To successfully make pizza, one must toss the proper ingredients into a concrete mixer, wait for the mixture to harden, and then drop in a few sticks of dynamite to blast slices from the drum walls. Today’s Groupon leaves delicate pie creation to the professionals: for $8, you get $16 worth of pizza, calzones, sandwiches, and more at Flancer’s, with locations in Gilbert and Mesa.
Flancer’s enticing aromas and creative conglomeration of pizzeria and sandwich fare satisfy a huge range of appetites. Pick up a menu to uncover a huge array of classic American eats, starting with a Happy-tizer, such as tossed and sauced Bad to the Boneless wings ($7.50), or a green beginner, such as a small Goat to Have It ($6.50)––a breaded goat-cheese salad with greens, sun-dried tomatoes, and pine nuts. Pizzeria fans can split up a specialty pizza such as the 18-inch Instant Karma––with caramelized onions, green chilis, and shrimp ($20.50)––or stick to solo-sized eating with a calzone––filled with ricotta and mozzarella cheese and one topping ($10). Flancer’s makes and bakes bread in-house, ensuring the freshest sandwiches available outside the newly emergent Sandwich Nebula. Try a stellar offering such as the Perfect Prickly Pear ($8.25), with prickly-pear-marinated chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and melted provolone.
This Groupon is not valid during happy hour from 3 p.m.–7 p.m. everyday.

- Back again, and everything was even better than the first time. It seems the trick is to come early for lunch. Everything's fresh and tasty, and the service is fast and friendly! – Heather G., 8/6/09
- Ahhh, Flancer's Cafe. You're filled with cute boys who serve me. You offer a bunch of tasty sandwiches that become two meals for me because they are so large. And apparently, you have amazing pizza. Hurrah. – Iris Y., 12/29/08

About Flancer's
If you’re tired of Arizona's desert landscape, blame the Flancer goat. Legend has it, the hungry little guy saw Arizona’s once-lush land and greenery as a personal buffet—he ate and ate until the landscape became barren. And though he's now extinct, it is said that the goat's shadow can be seen running through the café with a satisfied grin on his face.
Lucky for hungry Arizona natives, Flancer’s manages to offer a robust, diverse menu despite its desert location. Sandwiches are built on made-from-scratch breads that are baked throughout the day. They come stacked with unique flavor combos such as filet mignon and caramelized onions, or chicken breast marinated with prickly pear.
Owner Jeff Flancer claims you won’t find the café's bruschetta anywhere else but Flancer’s. The appetizer comes with breaded goat cheese, basil, and tomato piled atop baked-to-order crouton bread. With innovative food offerings such as this, it’s no wonder the restaurant claims to have been "rockin' taste buds" since it opened in 2000.
