Q:

I had permanent eyeliner done over 10 years ago and after a couple of years it faded and now the area appears white. I thought this was permanent

DONNA K.  asked on  Nov 12, 2012

A:

Hi Donna! Permanent make-up is actually cosmetic tattooing. All tattooing in particular permanent make-up will fade over time ie. sun, chlorine, salt water, medications, etc. Permanent make-up is "permanent" but by it's nature will require a touch-up (approx. 2 yrs) after your last visit. Permanent make-up is different in that way from traditional tattooing. I does require maintenance. You are way past what would have been touched up, thus leaving what appears white (scar tissue from the tattoo). ~Flawless
