Housed in a renovated industrial space, Floataway Café entered the Atlanta dining scene in 1998 as the young, hip sibling of Atlanta's hugely popular Bacchanalia. With an approachable menu of appetizers, pizzas, pastas, and entrées, it lends itself easily to an evening of relaxed yet intimate dining with friends and family. Sharable starters include blue crab fritters, salads made with a bed of greens, and sides of vegetables sourced from the restaurant's owner's farm, Summerland. Afterward, its entrées allow for more or less culinary exploration; while the tagliatelle with duck bolognese and pecorino tempt the adventurous, the classic margherita pizza doesn't disappoint, either. Selections of artisan cheeses and Summerland Farm vegetables fill out the edges of the meal, ensuring a hearty satisfaction by its end.
