Q:

I have a Canon Powershot SX40. It's a sub-SLR. Can I use it for this class or is there another class I could join? Thanks - Ahmad

A:

That would be a great camera for our Point & Shoot class!

Q:

I was looking into to purchasing this for a friend. Are there specific requirements that the person taking the course needs? She just wants to learn a little more about her camera and photography in general. Is this a good option for her or will it be too advanced? Thanks

Janell S.  asked on  Jan 14, 2013

A:

It sounds like our Digital 101 class would be a great fit for her then! If she has a more basic camera (one that does *not* have interchangeable lenses), our Point & Shoot class would be a better fit. Hope that helps!

Q:

I am looking for a class that strictly deals with digital SLR's and one that might be able to help me specifically with my Pentax camera. Is it likely that this class will help with this. I had a basic photography class in college before the advent of digital cameras.

Diane B.  asked on  Jan 13, 2013

A:

Our Digital 101 class is absolutely geared towards DSLR's like your Pentax ... if you are feeling like you have some knowledge of your camera/settings already, but want to take them to the next level, you might be ready for 102!

Q:

I was wondering if the classes are strictly digital photography or do then include the "older" film 35 mm camera photgraphy? Thanks!

Deanna K.  asked on  Jan 12, 2013

A:

Hi Deanna! I wish we had courses for film photography ... but we don't currently offer any. You might try seeing if your local community college offers any - they sometimes do!

Q:

I purchased a groupon online deal for the 101 camera class. Do you get in touch with me about choosing a month or what do I do from here? I expected a screen to pop up that would give me the info. Thanks, Sue

Chris E.  asked on  Jan 12, 2013

A:

When you open your Groupon, it will include redemption instructions under the "How to use this" section.

Q:

What happens if I miss a class?

roy e.  asked on  Jan 11, 2013

A:

You sign up for a certain month that you'd like to take your class, and you can view the material anytime during that month. After the month ends, you have access to all the material through the end of the year. So lots of time to review!
