Q:

Are these classes only for SLR-style cameras?

Melissa R.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

No! We offer a Point & Shoot class, which is perfect for non-SLR cameras. =) Our Creative Composition and Portrait Photography courses also don't require any certain type of camera.

Q:

Do you offer all of the classes every month (with the exception of the "Starting your own photography business" which appears to be sold out)? If I buy 5 of the groupons, is it advisable to sign up for the classes right away to ensure the remaining ones don't fill up? I know I have until December of this year to use the groupons, but I don't want to be left "holding the bag" if the classes fill up. Do most of the remaining classes fill up quickly? If I sign up for a class in advance and later find I have a conflict that month, can it be transferred to another month? Sorry for all the questions...just excited!

A:

Great questions, Karen! I think you'll find we try to accommodate you if at all possible, especially if you have conflicts with other months ... the Biz class definitely sells out the quickest, but you can also request to be on a waiting list for any course and any month (and we try as hard as we can to pull as many students as possible off the waiting list each month!). If you want to pre-register for a course that is not "open" yet, just email our CS team (info @ flyingphotoschool . com) and they will be happy to help you. I hope that helps!

Q:

Just thought of another couple of questions: Do all the classes build off what was learned in a previous class? For example, should I take Digital 101 before I take Digital 102? Are there prerequisites for some of the advanced classes?

Karen J.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Yes, we absolutely recommend taking 101 before 102 if you plan to take both courses. If you consider yourself more of a beginner when it comes to your DSLR, starting with 101 is the best choice!

Q:

I'm very interested in taking a number of your classes. I see the fine print says there is a limit of 3 groupons per person. Buy 2 additional as gifts. I'm a little confused by those statements. If I buy 3 groupons, can I use all the groupons on myself (different classes on different months?) Or am I supposed to give 2 away to other people? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Karen J.  asked on  Feb 5, 2013

A:

Hi Karen! You are welcome to use all 5 on yourself ... we will consider the last 2 as a gift to yourself. =) Hope that helps!

Q:

I read that the classes are the first Monday of each month. Is there a specific time? And is the info available on-demand in case I can't make a class or want to re-review the info later? I'm not sure I can commit to a specific date/time each month but would love the info.

Melissa  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Yes, you can log on anytime you like! Once your course begins, you can log in to access the materials as many times as you like, whenever you like. Once your 4-week course ends, you have access to all the material through the end of 2013.

Q:

Are there any hidden expenses besides the purchase of the classes ($29).

Joni R.  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Joni, great question - absolutely not! We understand that there are often "add on" materials that classes may encourage you to purchase ... our ultimate goal is to help you get the most you can out of the equipment you already own. We will never ask you to purchase any other equipment or products.
