About This Deal

Create your own solid paperweight by collecting color onto the surface of molten glass & shaping it while sitting at the glassblower’s bench. An instructor will explain the safety, equipment, & tools. These private classes last 2 hours long. You may be scheduled with others and group sizes are limited to 4 people.

Important Information: A 2 to 4 weeks notice is needed for specific dates for those with limited availability . Groups are limited to 4 people total. Minimum age of 9 years old WITH a parent/guardian. You must come back to pick up your piece 1 week following your class once it is cooled off.

  • Proof of vaccination/neg. test required at door.
  • Duration: 2 hr
  • Available weekends and Fridays. 4-week notice needed for other dates.
  • You may be scheduled with others & group sizes are limited to 4 people.
  • Minimum age of 9 years old.

About Minnesota Center for Glass Art Gallery

Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Arts (MCGA) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the education and exhibition of glass arts. Their building hosts a glass studio, education center, and dedicated exhibition space. Member-supported and staffed by member-artists, Foci offers advanced glass classes, where their expert instructors teach students a wide range of styles and techniques. They provide hands-on glass experiences for individuals, couples, and groups as well as narrated demonstrations of hot glass art. Artists use their facilities to create unique works that are displayed and sold in their gallery. The gallery and studio are free to visit and open to the public seven days a week. Foci MCGA provides opportunities for advanced learning through their glass education curriculum, where the expert instructors teach students a wide range of styles and techniques. Through these efforts, they seek to engage the local community and establish their studio in Minneapolis as a premier destination for the appreciation of glass arts.
