Q:

Does PRK qualify for this offer?

Lupita L.  asked on  Mar 13, 2013

A:

Hi Lupita ~ No, PRK is not in the LASIK category. This Groupon is for Customvue (Wavefront) LASIK with a microkeratome. If you would prefer All Laser LASIK, we have that technology available for an additional fee. Please let me know if you have any further questions or if you want to discuss further, you can email me directly at: pturnbull@eyecarefresno.com. Thanks!

Q:

What is the recovery time for this procedure?

KIm G.  asked on  Mar 13, 2013

A:

Hi Kim ~ Everyone's recovery time is different, but the "normal" schedule is that we ask you to go home after your procedure and relax/nap. Then that evening we have you wear plastic shields just so you don't rub or bump your eye as you sleep. The next morning you should be able to drive yourself to your post-operative appointment and then proceed on with your day and your normal activites. This is assuming your normal daily activities are desk work or light machinery work - we wouldn't want you skydiving or swimming in a public pool for a few weeks following the procedured - your eye will need a few weeks to fully heal. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

Q:

If I have cateracts started, would you be able to correct those at the same time? Not sure how that works.

Judie L.  asked on  Mar 11, 2013

A:

Hi Judie ~ Unfortunately, no. Cataracts required a completely different procedure than LASIK, so cataract surgery is not included in this Groupon. However, Dr. Maxwell does also perform cataract surgery, so he'd be happy to help you if you are looking for an experienced cataract surgeon, but the Groupon couldn't be used for your cataract procedure.

Q:

I wear contact and glasses but do not know if I am a candidate for lasik. What if I purchase the Groupon and I am not a candidate?

Tracy S.  asked on  Mar 11, 2013

A:

Hi Tracy ~ If you purchase the Groupon and turn out not to be a candidate, then Groupon will 100% refund your money. This is a no risk purchase. Hope that helps in making your decision! Thanks!

Q:

If I turn out not to be a candidate - how difficult is it to be refunded???? How does the refund process work?

Heidi M.  asked on  Mar 7, 2013

A:

Hi Heidi ~ The refund will come directly from Groupon so they will be better able to answer this question in terms of difficulty and timing. However, from the patients who have had to have their Groupon refunded on previous offers, I heard of no issues, so I assume it's relatively easy. Hope that helps. Thanks!

Q:

I am not very familiar with the different eye surgery procedures. I am nearsighted and am interested in the special you have now. Will this procedure help to avoid using glasses all together? and for how long?

Romana C.  asked on  Mar 7, 2013

A:

Hi Romana ~ Yes, LASIK will help avoid using glasses all together. How long? That is a near impossible question to ask since everyone is different and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. I can speak only for myself - I had LASIK eight years ago and for the past eight years, I have not had to wear contacts or glasses and I'm in my mid-40's. Hope that helps.

Q:

" All Laser LASIK, we have that technology available for an additional fee" Might you be able to tell me what that fee is? And, I actually have an appointment with another organization and I was wondering if you can tell me the difference between your laser surgery and Allegretto Wave Excimer Laser?

Tracey D.  asked on  Mar 6, 2013

A:

Hi Tracey ~ We also use the Allegretto Wave Excimer Laser so there would be no difference between our offer and the offer you received from the other organization - except for price. If you insisted on having All Laser LASIK, we would have to charge an additional $500 (total), but after you meet with Dr. Maxwell, I'm pretty sure you'll understand why he prefers to use the microkeratome - but the choice is your and both options are available to you. I hope this helps. If you'd like to discuss further, please feel free to contact me at pturnbull@eyecarefresno.com. Thanks!
