What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?

We offer a living history experience that covers elementary curriculum in the funnest way possible, and so much more along the way! Historical and magical woodland themed birthday parties are also our specialty. We provide hayrides with sing a longs, lively hoedowns with easy instructions, along with archery, tomahawk throwing, candle dipping, a love of gardening and growing, and so many other hands-on activities we'd love to share with others! We are a family friendly, family owned business that genuinely loves people and we consider it a joy to be able to make others happy through what we do.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?

Fort Cross Old Timey Adventures was created out of three ideas: The love of history, the love of people, and the desire for creativity through daily fun and excitement! To be able to offer a place that people can come and bring their friends and families to get in touch with days gone by, and to see the joy in their experience, that is our inspiration and purpose with this business.

What do you love most about your job?

We love the fun of it, and the idea that we can be apart of what makes someone's day special. To see a couple enjoying a date, surrounded by such beautiful nature, care-free and laughing because of the fun we provide, that's what we love most. When we hear a child say, "This was the best day ever!", that's what we love most. To see a family bonding while being outdoors having fun together, knowing that we've helped create a memory that they will cherish forever, that's what we love most.

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?

The best reaction is when someone seems unsure or disinterested, but ends up laughing and having an enthusiastically great time. People are often hesitant about participating in one of our hoedowns, and we very often hear afterwards, "That really was so much fun!".
