Francescos Ristorante

Francescos Ristorante takes its name from the larger-than-life Francesco Alongi. The late Sicily-born restaurateur opened several fine-dining restaurants in Vancouver, sang operatic arias to guests, and became friendly with big-name celebrities over the years, including Luciano Pavarotti, whom he once duetted with. Francesco may be gone, but Francescos Ristorante carries on his legacy by treating guests—including celebrities staying at the Sutton Place Hotel across the street—to upscale Italian cuisine and old-European-style service.

Servers whisk plates of lobster risotto, creamy buffalo burrata paired with beets, and rigatoni crowned with smoked duck sausage to white-cloth-covered tables. And they happily recommend complementary glasses of vino from the extensive wine list.

In a Nutshell

Menu includes rigatoni with smoked duck sausage, lobster risotto, lemon chicken breast, rack of lamb, meatballs, and buffalo burrata
