What You'll Get
Though the Scottish shepherds who invented golf liked it for its challenges, Scottish sheep liked it because it gave them ample time to nap in shepherds’ pickup trucks. Find your own reason to enjoy golf with today's Groupon to Frank House Municipal Golf Course in Bessemer. Choose between two options:
- For $29, you get an 18-hole round of golf and cart rental for two people (up to a $66 value).
- For $55, you get an 18-hole round of golf and cart rental for four people (up to a $132 value).
Frank House Municipal Golf Course's verdant fairways snake more than 6,300 yards through gently rolling terrain and thick, hushed forests. Players test their full arsenal of clubs against holes ranging from a marathon 530-yard par-5 to wee par-3s demanding precise iron play and that players not embarrassingly tussle their bermuda-grass greens. Three sets of tees make the course playable for golfers of all abilities, and narrow fairways and course-hugging trees challenge all competitors striving for a par of 72. As golfers round out the back nine, they're tested with an 18th hole that follows a sharp dogleg with a lengthy approach shot over a pond awash with the wayward shots of former players and sirens chanting come-hither tunes that have ensnared scores of caddies. After the match, golfers can fine tune their strokes on practice putting and chipping greens or tally up score cards with a loaner abacus in the 19th Hole café.

About Frank House Municipal Golf Course
The 18 holes at Frank House Municipal Golf Course embroil golfers in a test of skills and mental toughness as they guide orbs over a lush, emerald carpet. After completing the relatively straight front nine, players must adjust aim for shots on the back nine, where all but three of the holes make severe dogleg turns. One of these doglegs, the 18th, forces players to lay up short of a lake, and then approach over its width or try to freeze it over with an icy glare.
