Sea cucumbers, the camels of the ocean, have the fantastic ability to survive for up to half a year without water. Wet your own whistle with today’s Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of drinks and brewery fare at Frankenmuth Brewery in Frankenmuth.
Frankenmuth Brewery furnishes feasting with a substantial menu of pub fare and house-crafted beers. The industrial-chic building—enhanced by exposed brick, steel brewing vats, and high ceilings—emerges victoriously from almost anything; since the structure was completed in 1862, it has suffered every kind of calamity, from fire to tornado, only to rise again and pour itself a drink. Admire the persistence of the place while sipping their flavorsplosional pints ($4.50 each); there's the famous pilsener, a fruity much-ado-about wheat hefeweizen, the hoptacular American IPA, and rotating seasonal draughts including (at the moment) a mahogany-colored chocolaty winter bock and a potent (7.7% ABV) Baltic porter.
If you're looking to have some food with your beer, aim your fork no further than the char-grilled top sirloin with white-cheddar mashed potatoes ($18.99) and point your finger no further than the lemon-tarter'd fish and chips ($11.99). Patrons can also rest their weary heads on a meatloaf sandwich thick as a pillow with barbecue au jus and fried onion strings ($10.99) or a portobello-mushroom sandwich with sundried-tomato mayonnaise ($7.99). Sugar rushes travel by way of cake jet streams and ice-cream chunnels. Feel free to request a complimentary 20-minute brewery tour covering the past, present, and future of frothy endeavors, or ponder the possibility of bringing home a handcrafted souvenir growler ($40) with a complimentary first fill-up (normally $10+) as a delicious memento (the value of this Groupon cannot be applied toward the cost of a growler).

About Frankenmuth Brewery
When German immigrants founded the breweries that eventually became Frankenmuth Brewery in 1862, they knew one thing for sure about beer: “It’s good for you.” This motto still steers the brewery today, which operates out of a four-story, 28,000-square-foot building where brewmasters engineer pilsners, hefeweizens, and other beers. Exposed brick and ample brewing equipment dot Frankenmuth’s dining room, where hand-tossed pizzas join Bavarian-style bratwursts with caraway-seed sauerkraut on a menu of hearty pub food. On warm days, an outdoor patio seats up to 250 diners who can admire the Bavarian Belle riverboat as it barrels up the Cass River, then duck inside for a free brewery tour. Frankenmuth Brewery distributes its signature root beer and beers by the keg, bottle, and dewdrop throughout Michigan and across the country.
