Tradition has it that the Leaning Tower of Pisa became tilted after a cocky waiter tried to yank the tablecloth out from underneath it. Indulge in culinary lore with today's Groupon: for $12, you get $25 worth of upscale Italian fare at Fratelli's Ristorante. Fratelli's Ristorante is closed on Sunday.
Sophisticated touches ranging from handmade pasta to fresh-caught fish punctuate the menu of traditional Italian cuisine at Fratelli's Ristorante. The kitchen's brick oven churns out crispy concoctions such as the pizza rustica ($10.95), the doughy canvas of which frames savory italian sausage alongside sweet peppers and an individual number and signature from the chef. The melanzane alla parmigiana ($12.95) blankets deep-fried eggplant with melted mozzarella, and pollo a la marquesa ($14.95) steeps pecan-encrusted chicken in a creamy pesto sauce. Green onions and black olives color the tagliatelle ai fruitti di mare ($17.95), a menagerie of shrimp, calamari, and baby clams that skydive onto clouds of long, flat pasta ribbons.
Our customers loved this deal last year, earning Fratelli's Ristorante a spot on Groupon's Best of 2011 list.
The menu at Fratelli's Ristorante is classic Italian—handmade gnocchi, brick-oven pizzas, and veal sautéed in garlic and wine. But patrons might notice other influences in dishes such as the French crepes filled with portobello mushrooms and the chicken pasta studded with spicy Texas sausage. Regardless of their origins, these upscale meals pair perfectly with decor that includes sparkling chandeliers and a bar that was salvaged from the Shamrock Hilton Hotel. Though elegant, Fratelli's isn't overly formal, however. There's a separate kids' menu and a lovely outdoor patio that welcomes dogs and bumblebees who promise not to sting anyone.
