The consortium of professional instructors at Fred Astaire Dance Studios, which was cofounded by legendary toe-tapper Fred Astaire himself, shepherds students of all ages and skill levels through lessons that span the style spectrum. Low-pressure private sessions allow enthusiastic teachers to fine-tune each individual student’s technique and form using expert eyes and mechanical dancing shoes preprogrammed to do the charleston. Patrons can learn how to cavort through classic waltz and fox-trot romps or swivel through the modern steps of salsa, swing, or samba. During group lessons, amateur hip-shakers follow up their one-on-one sessions as they continue cultivating their moves with 45-minute classes that start at 7:00 p.m. every weeknight. For dancers hoping to hoof it up in a social setting, group-practice parties provide a one-night extravaganza of instruction, demonstrations, and amateur fire-walking. Dancers can consult the schedule for a full calendar of classes.

Customer Reviews

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time learning from Gideon. He made it so easy to understand the moves and we were all laughing the whole time! We liked it so much that we signed up for the beginner's package to continue learning to dance! We would definitely recommend it, even if you have zero experience!

Gideon Rider was my father & I's instructor and was fun and informative. We both weren't super confident in our dancing ability but he broke the moves down well and we laughed the whole time! The studio owners are great and welcoming - willing to be flexible and are kind people.

The experience was great and the instructor (Guidion) was amazing. For a non dancer he made the classes fun and enjoyable!
