Visiting Freddie's Place is as comfortable as hanging out in a friend's backyard. Set beneath a grove of oak trees, the outdoor seating area runs along Bouldin Creek and features a stage for live bands that play music five days a week. No one is turned away here: kids and dogs; diners and drinkers; music fans and sports fans all gather to chow down. Inside, a cozy dining room outfitted with a fireplace provides reprieve from inclement weather.
No matter where they choose to set up camp, though, guests can rest assured they'll be leaving with a full belly. Servers dole out hearty pub fare creations such as the Frederonie–a half-pound burger-pizza hybrid stuffed with pepperoni, mozzarella, and pizza sauce or the Fredelvis– a burger served with peanut butter, bacon, bananas and a side of honey. Dessert carries a similar tune, specifically the fried PB&J sandwiches.
To complement the quirky dishes, the bartenders mix an array of equally off-the-wall cocktails, including Freddie's Honeybadger—honey whisky and hot coffee—and the Dirty Shirley—Austin-based Tito's vodka, Sprite, and grenadine—which was named after the gal who always stole Shirley Temple's lunch money. Guests can also revel in happy hour drink and food specials throughout the week such as half-priced appetizers, any-day any-time tall boys, frozen margarita, and Jack Daniel's drink discounts. Freddie's Place is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner served with a large side of fun.
