I am interested in the class but in the groupon it mentions bringing a DSLR camera. I am new to photography and only have a canon 260hs would this class still apply to using my own camera?

Hi Jason. The knowledge we discuss is the same information used for film cameras 20 years ago as today's digital cameras. ISO, FSTOP, and Shutter speeds are always the same no matter what camera you own. Since The Canon powershot is not a dslr camera it is just more difficult to find how to adjust these settings in your camera...remember every digital camera is now a computer. So for example the Canon Rebel might have the ISO button on the top right, the Nikon D200 might be on the bottom left, and your camera may not have the button at all (you'll have to read your manual to find where in your computer menu to adjust this and other settings). So please understand this class is much more difficult for us to teach you how to apply the knowledge when the dslr class is being taken by someone that has a point and shoot. We do have dslr cameras you are welcome to borrow if you like (my analogy is like learning how to use a bobcat to dig a foundation but all you have is a shovel...it can still be done but a whole lot more difficult :)
