Choose Between Two Options
In Prepared, Not Scared, Fresh Air Family's experienced outdoor experts take the scariness out of outdoor settings for kids entering grades 4-7. Designed with a mixture of emergency preparedness and outdoor science lessons, camps teach kids vital lessons, including how to read a map and compass, find medicinal and edible plants, and build debris shelters. Since safety is the utmost concern, kids will also learn how to spot predators and differentiate between venomous and non-venomous snakes.
Gross Out Camp pairs elementary and middle schoolers with naturalists at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for an exploration of nature's creepiest crawlers. Encounters with reptiles, tadpoles, crawdads, birds, and bugs grab kids' attention during sessions that also include arts and crafts and journaling breaks.
Campers must bring their lunches each day of camp.
