Held at the West Point of the Eno River, introductory classes get beginners acclimated with captaining their choice of paddle vessel. Students can choose from three different mini clinics: SUP Intro, Kayak or Canoe Capsize Recovery & Rescue, and Intro to Kayak Rolling. During the standup-paddleboard (SUP) mini clinic, students learn how to get on and off the board, proper stance, paddling maneuvers, and basic safety. The kayak or canoe capsize-and-recovery course teaches students important skills for navigating lakes and rivers, such as how to wet exit and then how to turn upright and re-enter the boat in deep water.<p>
