What You'll Get
Ever since Arizona and Mexico became neighbors last year, Phoenix residents have sought out the mythical hidden restaurant that fuses the two cultures' cuisines together. Today's Groupon ends the search: $30 worth of Mexican-Southwestern fusion cuisine and drinks at Fuego Bistro for $10. The restaurant has garnered a ton of accolades and has a patio for dining under the color-saturated skies of an Arizona evening. You must use your Groupon only for dinner and never for undinner.
Fuego's dinner menu is full of tasty fusion faves. Spark things off with a plate of empanadas ($8), then skip ahead to delicious entradas, such as the steak de vaquero (ribeye steak rubbed with cowboy spices and served with crimini mushrooms and hot and sweet onion-pepper relish; $26) and the pollo ajedrea (chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese, apricot, basil, spinach, shrimp, and crimini mushrooms finished in a balsamic-reduction glaze; $19).
If your Fuego food has a bit more fuego than you expected, cool your tongue off with one of the bistro's specialty cocktails. The Fuego martini (Sky vodka, Malibu rum, and pineapple juice; $9) is always a hit, but the real claim to fame is its mojito bar ($8–$12), which lets you "call it as you like it" from a selection of 12 flavors and 61 kinds of rum. For truly only-in-Phoenix flavor, though, order your mojito with prickly pear.
Fuego also has live music on the patio every Friday and Saturday night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. After a night of cool breezes, spicy food, hot music, and mojitos, Fuego will magically transform your spouse, boyfriend, or boy friend who thinks he's your boyfriend into the hot-blooded, nimble-hipped, bullfighting Latin lover of the dreams of 17% of the world's population.
- The perfect mojito is light and refreshing, with a sweet overtone that masks the kick of the rum. That's why we love the Prickly Pear version at Fuego Bistro, in central Phoenix. – Phoenix New Times
- Deliciousness! The service was excellent! The owner was on out the floor - serving and interacting with the customers...gotta love that! He also gave us suggestions for apps, meals, and drinks - all were perfect! – lauranalex, Citysearch
- The live music and seating in the patio provides a great atmosphere making you feel whisked away to places far away. – rhay, Urbanspoon
- This place definately exceeded my ecpectations. The flavors are spot on, the atmosphere is inviting, and the service is always great! – janey126, Citysearch

About Fuego Bistro
Flavors from Oaxaca, Cuba, and Yucatan add depth to the menus at Fuego Bistro restaurants, three gourmet Mexican oases that pride themselves on their modern culinary touches. Among the warm reds and yellows and inviting black wicker chairs at the original Fuego Bistro, diners dig into ancho-dusted salmon croquettes and a seafood chili relleno with lobster cream-chili sauce.
