Fulin's Asian Cuisine
The Chinese character "Fu" can mean a number of things, but for Fulin's Asian Cuisine founder David Lin, only one of its definitions applies. In his case, it means "good fortune, happiness, blessings and wealth"—appropriate once you learn Lin's own story. Upon emigrating to the United States from his native Fugian province after the Tiananmen Square protests, he began learning the restaurant business inside and out. Two decades later, he opened his first Fulin's Asian Cuisine, marrying a fine-dining experience with a menu focused on classic dishes from Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Today, his formula—and his fortunes—clearly worked out, because a dozen Fulin's Asian Cuisine locations can now be found across the states of Tennessee and Alabama.
