What You'll Get
Showcasing the diversity and excellence of the local dance scene, the Modern Atlanta Dance Festival (MAD) provides two nights packed with dance from eight choreographers at the Balzer Theater at Herren's in downtown Atlanta. If you've ever wanted to expand your appreciation of dance, you can experience a variety of choreographers, techniques and artistic visions in a single place. Otis Sallid, who conceived the hit Broadway show Smokey Joe's Cafe, presents the premiere of Chiaroscuro: A Light in the Dark, host company Full Radius Dance premieres Douglas Scott's A Waltz for the End of Our Time, and artists and educators who have made pivotal contributions to the field of dance in the heart of Georgia will be honored on Saturday night. Now in its 22nd year, this festival offers the most daring and innovation to be found in Georgia's contemporary dance.
