Choose Between Two Options

  • $125 for a Basic Rider Course ($250 value)
  • $55 for an Experienced Rider Course ($100 value)

The Basic Rider Course equips motorcyclists with the knowledge to ride safely and complete all state testing and training requirements. Students spend time practicing maneuvers on the academy’s controlled off-street environment and studying in the classroom. Between the riding portion and classroom sessions, students learn a variety of topics including riding safety, how to maneuver a motorcycle, night riding, and carrying cargo. Each rider must complete the MSF BRC workbook prior to class and bring several gear items with them, which are listed on the course website. Classes are offered Monday–Tuesday, Thursday–Friday, and Saturday–Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Motorcycles, workbooks, and helmets will be provided.

The Experienced Rider Course helps more seasoned motorcyclists continue to build their skills. Participants practice maneuvers to learn about managing traction, stopping quickly, and cornering, and discuss topics such as safe riding and motorcycle care. See the website for a list of gear to bring; attendees must bring their own motorcycles.

Full Throttle Riding Academy

Former professional motorcycle racer and 20-year veteran street rider Jason Curdy dedicates his company, Full Throttle Riding Academy—a state-sponsored school and recognized training provider of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation—to teaching motorcyclists to ride safely and respect the road. Starting with the two-day Basic Rider Course, students learn to safely maneuver their vehicles on an off-street range and study riding regulations within the classroom. By the end of the course, they’ll have the knowledge and command of their bikes necessary to start riding.

Very educational and great staff! The instructors are...passionate! They are strict on their instruction, as they should be. Motorcycling is a serious activity and they take it serious for your safety! You will be riding for the majority of the class. For those coming into the class COME WELL RESTED! Do not get discouraged, they are not yelling at you. You will be grateful for there commitment and passion for instructing their students. Have fun, relax, breathe, stay focused, and listen!

Jason C. at Full Throttle Riding Academy is the #1 instructor in CO. He is extremely skilled, has a great sense of humor, super knowledgeable, and can be strict because riding and surrounding yourself with a motorcycle should and is a serious deal. Jason is not one to let someone stay if they are not capable/ready to start riding. Safety definitely comes first at his facility- as it should. I had the best experience and even met a couple new friends. Participation is HUGE in this class. I have talked to several people who have gotten their motorcycle license- however, a lot of them said they rode for one day and had classroom work the WHOLE NEXT DAY. I loved that we were on the bikes within ONE hour of arriving to class. It is definitely hands on and you must do your homework PRIOR to the class. I was overall super happy with my decision in driving to loveland for the class and having Jason as my instructor! Well done. Appreciate all your patience Jason!
