Blood Wedding, a tragedy written by Spanish dramatist Federico García Lorca in the 1930s, takes place on the wedding day of an unnamed bride and groom. The Bride's ex-lover Leonardo turns up before the ceremony to confess that he still loves her, forcing her to choose between himself and her husband-to-be. Her fateful choice leads inevitably to tragedy as the conflict between personal desires and societal expectations plays itself out.
