Blood Wedding, a tragedy written by Spanish dramatist Federico García Lorca in the 1930s, takes place on the wedding day of an unnamed bride and groom. The Bride's ex-lover Leonardo turns up before the ceremony to confess that he still loves her, forcing her to choose between himself and her husband-to-be. Her fateful choice leads inevitably to tragedy as the conflict between personal desires and societal expectations plays itself out. After an encounter with the moon and death, the fates of the men are decided. Blood Wedding, performed in both Spanish and English, can be seen at the Fullerton College Bronwyn Dodson Theatre.
