Q:

Could you please let me know how to register my daughter for a class? I have purchased the Groupon and went on your website to register her for the August 19th class in Pearland, and in no place did it ask for a Groupon number, just my credit card. Thanks, Lisa

Lisa C.  asked on  May 7, 2013

A:

Lisa, Thanks for purchasing our Groupon. You should have received a voucher with instructions about registering for camp, that includes instructions on how to bypass the payment. Please call our office if you need this code at 281-201-7418. Thank you.

Q:

My daughter just turned 9 (going into 4th grade) in a dual language immersion program. She is quite adept at Spanish, but we are looking for a program over the summer for her to be part of. Will this program work for her? If not, if there are other students who are also in dual language program/native speakers we would be very interested. If you are in the Galleria/Bellaire area we would be happy to distribute your materials at her school to find additional students (for the $135 price that is). Please let us known. Thanks

A:

Martin, Thank you for your inquiry. Our camp is conducted almost entirely in Spanish; we have students who are brand new to Spanish as well as students in dual language programs, and even students who speak Spanish at home. Our program will be different from what your daughter learns in the classroom, which is more academic in nature. Our program focuses on conversation and interaction between students. Being that she does have experience in Spanish some of the vocabulary many be a review, but because the class is entirely in Spanish I think she would benefit from having the exposure to Spanish over the summer; especially if no one in your family speaks Spanish. We do have a location at 6-10 and I-10 at Pump It Up which is in the Galleria area. There is also a small chance we will have a location in Bellaire. If we do add Bellaire location at a later time, we would allow you to transfer your enrollment to this location. In regards to your daughters school, we are happy to provide materials about our programming as well as Groupon pricing to those parents. Kindly email me at babetteh@futuraadventures.com and I will email or mail you the material you requested. Thank you!

Q:

Is the Bellaire location open for this summer? It appears as coming soon. We would like to register both kids but locations are a little far.

Clara L.  asked on  May 6, 2013

A:

Clara, Currently we are not registering students for camp in Bellaire. If you choose to purchase this Groupon and we open a Bellaire location you can transfer to this location. Thank you for considering our programs.

Q:

My son is in Spanish immersion program middle school-age 11 Is he too old? I see up to age 10 in one description and up to age 12 in another description What do you work on with the older kids? How are they grouped? By age or ability? What is the student teacher ratio?

sarah j.  asked on  May 4, 2013

A:

Being that your son has been in an immersion program and he would be older than all of the other students, I do not feel that this camp would be the best fit him. We could look at opening a section of camp for older students if there was enough interest; perhaps other students from your sons school who have also been in an immersion style program. If we were to start this we would honor the Groupon pricing for you. In regards to your other questions; our class minimum is 8 and the max is 25. We have a degreed native teacher in each classroom, and a a teachers assistant. Classes are mixed age and not grouped by a particular skill level since the entire day is in Spanish. Please feel free to call our office to discuss any of your questions at 281-201-7418. Thank you for your interest in our programs.

Q:

My son is 5, turns 6 on Sept 4. I would REALLY like to see him in the class, but would they make an exception? Also, are the teachers from Mexico, or some another Spanish-speaking country? I am looking for Spanish instructors from Mexico. Thank you.

R. H.  asked on  May 3, 2013

A:

This particular camp requires students to be between the ages of 6-10; they do offer programs for children age 3-5 that are half day programs. If you are interested in this program they can offer you a similar discount. In regards to their instructors; they have teachers from many different Spanish speaking countries. If you have a preference on the origin of the instructor you could call their office to find out which locations might have such a teacher. If you have further questions please feel free to call them at 281-201-7418 to discuss. Thank you.
