What You'll Get
Flying is the only way to get close enough to a cloud to milk it or to visit your secret sky family. Bolster the bond earthly loved ones just don't understand with today's Groupon: for $99, you get a three-hour discovery flight lesson and a one-hour flight at Future Eagles Aviation (a $249 value), located at the Pacific Aviation Building. Hopeful pilots must be 12 or older to sign up.
Future Eagles Aviation’s discovery flight lesson gives aspiring air-commanders the chance to learn the basics of flying and to steer an aircraft as it sweeps through the sky. Lessons start on Friday at 6 p.m. and are taught by an FAA flight instructor, who takes students through the navigation, aeronautics, and necessary duties of an ace pilot, such as checking the instrumental panel, following 6,000-foot-tall traffic lights, and radioing into the control tower. The next day, you and your instructor will take off for an hour on a Cessna 172 Skyhawk, a popular aircraft for pilots in training. Take the helm for 30 minutes to cruise over Fresno, as the instructor takes you through each vital process and continues your gravity-defying education every step of the way. With this mini-flight school, aviation junkies curious about earning their wings can take the first step, while those just giddy about gliding with the birds can achieve the experience with the throttle in their hands.

About Future Eagles Aviation
The FAA-certified instructors at Future Eagles Aviation put clients behind the controls of actual aircraft as they teach them the ins and outs of aviation. Students amass skills such as navigation and cockpit familiarity on the ground in adventure flight school before lifting off in a Cessna 172 training aircraft for 30 minutes of flight time. Kids can also take to the sky during Future Eagles Aviation’s youth aviation summer camp, a weeklong foray into the world of cloud skimming and Peter Pan mimicry during which kids aged 10 and older practice on simulators and log real flight hours in training aircraft.
