Although salons continue to rise in prominence since they first appeared in 17th-century France, the primary means of beautification no longer involves swimming in a kiddie pool filled with tomato aspic. Today's Groupon lets you take part in the continuing evolution of beauty trends. For $45, you get $100 worth of salon services, including hair care, waxing, and facials, at Fuze Salon in Elizabeth. This Groupon excludes the Brazilian keratin treatment.
Fuze's professional team of hair modifiers and body sculptors can dye, clip, wax, and smooth your various body parts into a cohesive legion of human elements. Lip and brow waxing ($15 and $18) add a sleek touch to your face, while a bio-corrective facial takes care of the dull, boring skin cells that have overslept on your face's couch (90 minutes, $90). Get a pumice peel to micro-abrade your dermal damage into submissive invisibility (90 minutes, $90), or conceal the bags earned by late-night crime fighting with added-on eye-area lighteners and rescue mask ($20). If your tresses are trussed and tired, get a cut ($30–$90) and deep condition ($25) with Redken products, or eschew your everyday appearance and confuse your enemies with a straightening ($80+) or a full curl treatment ($100+).
Whether you want to punch up your look, calm down your skin, or mow down your old hair color with a golf cart, an appointment at Fuze can get you in shape to accomplish your goals. Call to schedule and make it official that your old self is your old self and not your present self.

Four of Fuze Salon's stylists have more than a decade of experience, and Artistic Director Chip Perry has spent more than two decades in the business. Perry spent time as a national performing artist for Redken and specialized in teaching corrective color at the Redken Exchange, so it’s no surprise the salon uses ammonia-free Redken Chromatics dye as its go-to. Like Fievel Mousekewitz, his journey to happiness began with petty theft. His online biography describes how he would commandeer his neighbors' dolls as a child and "spend hours trying to twist the two inches of fiber into different shapes.” Now, he styles brides and men's cuts with equal dexterity, and keeps his hands busy raising two dogs, contributing to the boards of two charitable organizations, and rallying the community around philanthropic drives and walks.
