What You'll Get
Splurge on creative flavors with today's Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of exotic and elegantly plated fare at G Bar and Kitchen, a classed-up cuisinery in Swampscott that incorporates Italian and French influences into its inventive dishes.
The brainchild of gastromind chef Gregg Brackman, G Bar and Kitchen's dishes marry creative recipes with quality ingredients. Start with the beet salad, a blend of golden beets, goat cheese, and watercress bathed in lemon-olive oil emulsion ($9). Noodle-centric dishes, including classic gnocchi with tomato-romano pomodoro ($17), satiate comfort-food seekers. For a main course, try the crispy-skinned chicken with mashed russets and tequila-lime buerre blanc ($24) or the eggplant with pomodoro and parmesan ($22). Side selections include the parmesan au gratin potatoes ($6) and creamed shallots and spinach ($5). View the complete menu here.
Open Monday through Saturday, G Bar and Kitchen doles out dishes until 10 p.m., and slings sips until 11 p.m. nightly.
- …for the most part, the straightforward cooking - upscale but unpretentious - is the restaurant's attraction. Combine that with the friendly staff, the sweet little space, and the neighborhood vibe, and Swampscott has a welcome new choice. – Devra First, The Boston Globe
- G is in touch with the tastes people are craving these days. His dayboat fresh fish offering is always tasty and creative. – lobstadivah, TripAdvisor
- We ordered the Blue Cod special and the filet mignon with lobster, both excellent. And the tiramisu was the best we'd ever had. – dreddling, Tripadvisor
