Had a wodeful time. One suggestion, supply warm blankets in lodge rooms for sitting on our balcony on cool mornings and evenings :-)

The hot tub was out of order, and we had been looking forward to relaxing under the stars. Other than that, the trip met our expectations.

WE loved our stay there. Our server at the restaurant was skilled but also had a great sense of humor and enhanced our experience.

About This Deal

Eco-Friendly Camping Resort with Lavish Views and Amenities

Below the rugged bluffs and undulating hills near California's scenic Highway 1, a group of plump elephant seals lounge and bellow on a rocky shore. Año Nuevo State Park is one of largest rookeries for these long-snouted mammals, which come here during winter months. Just north of this site, the Costanoa Coastal Lodge and Camp is perched on finely manicured grounds amid the thick of the gorgeous surrounding wilderness. The rustic lodge with upscale accommodations nurtures the utmost respect for its setting: wooden Adirondack chairs peppered throughout the property look out onto the vibrant landscape.

Situated amid a grove of pine trees at the southern end of the acreage, the Lodge buildings at Costanoa Coastal Lodge and Camp feature layers of knotted wooden beams that ascend majestically. Inside, stone hearths and polished silver accents flourish the organic décor. The carpeted Lodge king rooms feature double french doors that open up onto private furnished balconies and patios looking out to the rolling meadows. Instead of busting open fire hydrants, guests of the Lodge quarters can enjoy the invigorating water jets of an outdoor hot tub.

To restore mental and physical equilibrium, The Spa at Costanoa offers the integrative massage, which employs traditional stroke techniques and Japanese pressure methods. Afterward, guests can lope to the Cascade Bar & Grille, where California cuisine complements a regional wine list. Therein, chefs combine sustainable seafood and organic produce to whip up clam steamers or grilled artichokes.

Costanoa: Undisturbed Wilderness Along the Scenic California Coast

Costanoa is adjoined to 30,000 acres of diverse hiking trails peppered with scenic lookouts to the shore. The forested paths weave in and out of the San Mateo Coast's back hills, where native birds flit by exotic plants such as blue sea rocket and yellow lizard tail. Guided naturalist hikes arranged by Costanoa dish on Native American history and coastal ecology, and mountain-biking tours through the backcountry head past towering redwoods and fossilized Clif bars.

Steelhead trout mingle with coho salmon in the streams at Ano Nuevo State Park, which preserves idyllic coastal terrain including native dunes, freshwater marsh, and wetlands and sits less than 2 miles east of the resort.
