Suite Hotel and Spa Framed by Santa Rosa Mountains
Some of the best golf courses in the world are concentrated in the small town of La Quinta, nestled in California’s Coachella Valley. The courses—set against the backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains—bear the names of the game’s greatest players: Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Arnold Palmer. Embassy Suites La Quinta - Hotel & Spa sits in the middle of it all, granting guests easy access to world-class golf as well as the stylish and laid-back culture of Palm Springs, located just 20 miles up the road.
After hitting the links, you can take a dip in the outdoor pool or venture into the relaxing mists of Spa Hibiscus, a 5,000-square-foot facility equipped with a steam room, a sauna, a jacuzzi, and a solace courtyard. Café LQ, the onsite restaurant, is set in an open-air atrium surrounded by giant palm trees. Visit each morning for a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast buffet. At night, the manager’s reception provides cocktails, beer, wine, and appetizers. Upstairs, each of the hotel's spacious suites is outfitted with a king bed and a pair of televisions—one in each of the suite’s rooms.
La Quinta, California: Golf-Centric Town Outside of Joshua Tree Park
Located a few minutes from the hotel, Old Town La Quinta is a cluster of boutiques, restaurants, and cafés in Spanish-style buildings. An organic farmers' market is held here on Sunday mornings. Just outside of town, Joshua Tree National Park spreads across some 790,000 acres of the Mojave and Colorado Deserts. A haven for rock climbers, the park features thousands of named climbing routes, and several hiking trails wind throughout the area. Be advised that most of the park’s roads are unpaved and require vehicles with high ground clearance and four-wheel drive.
