Washington Court Hotel

One-Night Stay for Two at Washington Court Hotel in Washington, DC

Give as a Gift

Upscale Hotel with Views of US Capitol Building

There’s a statue of a female figure on top of the US Capitol known as Statue of Freedom. It stands nearly 20 feet tall and weighs in at 15,000 pounds; the figure's right hand rests upon a sheathed sword, and her left hand clasps a laurel wreath. She has struck this pose every day since 1863. You can see this statue from the Washington Court Hotel three blocks away—one of the only unobstructed views of the Capitol building in all of DC.

In fact, many of the hotel’s deluxe rooms have direct views of the Capitol. Other rooms at the hotel overlook the DC skyline, and some of them look inward to the hotel’s expansive atrium. Every room was remodeled in 2009 and, inspired by the sparkling white buildings that line the National Mall, each has a bathroom outfitted with italian marble.

At the onsite restaurant Bistro 525, you can dine on locally sourced New American entrees such as grilled maryland rack of lamb, applewood-smoked virginia pork chops, and house-smoked pennsylvania trout. The eatery is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Nearby, bartenders pour draft beers and glasses of wine each evening at the Federal City Bar, which has a waterfall and a billiards table.

Washington, DC: Monuments, Museums, and Dynamic Nightlife

First-time visitors to Washington, DC, will want to pay a visit to the National Mall, just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The mall stretches up from the Capitol building, past the soaring Washington Monument, and east from the Lincoln Memorial. Another pillar of DC is the Smithsonian Institution, which has 19 museums. The Smithsonian's best-known museums are located along the National Mall, including the National Air and Space Museum and the National Museum of Natural History.

When you're done visiting the iconic monuments and government buildings, it's worth it to pay a visit to the Dupont Circle neighborhood. It features some of the city’s best restaurants and clubs alongside foreign embassies housed in historical mansions. On the weekend, there's a wild nightlife on Connecticut Avenue as crowds flood in and out of the many bars here, which range from Latin lounges to karaoke dives and high-end clubs.
