What is 18K white-gold ion plating? Is it the same as being "clad in any precious metal, such as gold or platinum? Wite most items that are "clad" the base metal is bronze or sterling silver. Does this ion plating work as well on stainless steel? Also, how thick in the plating?

Ion Plating is the most advanced of the plating technologies because it fuses the gold int the layers of the metal, rather than sitting on top of it. It make the durability about 20 better. The Industry uses 0.50 microns, we use 2.00 - four times the standard. The entire piece - including the chain - is made with 316L Stainless Steel, the finest available, and it will never tarnish.
