Days 2 and 7: Nairobi
Nairobi is both the capital of Kenya and the country’s largest city, with a glittering skyline, a thriving culinary scene, and several national museums and monuments. Most out-of-towners pay a visit to Nairobi National Park, a protected habitat just 4 miles from the city center. You’ll spend two nights in Nairobi, on the 2nd and 7th days of the tour.
Days 3–4: Masai Mara National Reserve
Large populations of lions, leopards, and cheetahs roam the open savannahs of Masai Mara, a game reserve in southwestern Kenya that served as setting for the romantic flick Out of Africa.
During your time at Masai Mara, you’ll go on three game drives with an experienced guide. Your stay includes all meals and plenty of free time to take in the view from your private verandah.
Days 5–6: Lake Nakuru National Park
Located in central Kenya, Lake Nakuru National Park is home to thousands of bright-pink flamingoes that feed on the blue-green algae thriving in the lake’s warm, shallow waters. Black rhinos and buffalo flock here as well to cool off. Your stay at Lake Nakuru includes all meals and an afternoon game drive on which you may also spot giraffes, waterbuck, and eagles.
