Four- and Seven-Day Weight Loss and Fitness Program amid New York's Catskills Mountains

The leaders of Birchcreek Weight Loss and Wellness Retreat know that weight loss and good habits can be hard to start. In turn, they created four- and seven-night immersive programs where health and well-being are your focus, every day. It certainly doesn't hurt that guests exercise amid the countryside of the Catskill Mountains.

In the boot-camp program, you’ll have a varied itinerary; each day typically includes a combination of hikes, yoga, strength training, cardio activities, and healthy meals or juice blends. Then, after partaking in physical activities and eating energizing food all week long, boot campers return home with a fitness jump start - energized, lighter, and armed with the skills to keep in shape.

The boot-camp program is appropriate for anyone who is in reasonably good shape and is able to walk 10 minutes without breathing heavily. Five hours is set aside each day for exercise, and certified personal trainers lead the workouts. There's also a communal, noncompetitive atmosphere here; guests are encouraged, but not required, to participate in all activities. The daily routine may look something like this:

9 a.m. Wake-up power hike
10:30 a.m. Breakfast
11 a.m. Power Yoga
12:15 p.m. Healthy Strategies class
1:30 p.m. Lunch
3 p.m. Cardio Kickboxing
4:30 p.m. Afternoon drink break
5 p.m. Butts and Guts class
6 p.m. Dinner
7 p.m. Personal time

Choose your own diet: For meals, you can choose between an all-juice diet or the Clean Food meal plan. With the juice diet, you’ll enjoy healthy drinks such as carrot-ginger and pineapple-orange juice for breakfast, as well as some heartier dinner drink blends, such as Salsa in a Glass and Little Italy. The Clean Food plan also incorporates juices and smoothies at breakfast and lunch and a freshly made salad at dinner that total up to about 1,000–1,200 calories per day.

Stay on an estate in the mountains: The retreat is located just 2.5 hours from midtown Manhattan in New York’s Catskill Mountains. The renovated estate was built by a wealthy entrepreneur in 1896 and has only 10 guest rooms. Each private room has a view of the hills, streams, and stone walls. During your free time, you can head out to one of the private trails or socialize with fellow boot campers.
