The Albemarle Inn stands as a testament to early 20th‑century grandeur—a lovingly restored 1909 Greek Revival mansion nestled in Asheville’s Grove Park District. From its Corinthian-columned façade and sweeping grand staircase to its elegant interior adorned with original art by Rob Freet, the property exudes historical pride and romantic charm. Each of the eleven guest rooms offers sumptuous décor—canopy, sleigh, or brass beds dressed in fine linens and duvets—for a restful, refined stay.

Positioned within tranquil gardens and a spacious veranda overlooking verdant grounds, the Inn invites guests to unwind in solitude or mingle over a morning coffee among fellow travelers. With easy access to the Biltmore Estate, downtown Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway and National Parks, this timeless retreat merges serene ambiance with urban and natural splendor—ideal for those seeking repose and discovery alike.

Asheville, NC: Where Appalachian Heritage Meets Artistic Soul

Tucked into the scenic embrace of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, North Carolina, is a city that pulses with the pride of its Appalachian roots and the creative energy of a thriving arts scene. Once a strategic hub for railroads and trade in the early 20th century, Asheville has gracefully preserved its architectural legacy—most notably the Biltmore Estate, America’s largest privately owned home, which stands as a testament to Gilded Age grandeur. Strolling through downtown reveals a trove of Art Deco facades, historic buildings, and independent galleries, reflecting a community fiercely devoted to its cultural identity.

Nature and nurture exist in harmony here. The nearby Blue Ridge Parkway offers sweeping vistas and access to some of the region’s most stunning hiking trails and waterfalls, while the city itself brims with farm-to-table restaurants, microbreweries, and music venues that capture the spirit of local innovation. Asheville’s history as a health resort in the 19th century now feeds into its modern reputation as a wellness and outdoor recreation destination. At every turn, from mountaintop sunrise to the drum circles of Pack Square, Asheville invites exploration, reflection, and the rediscovery of American heritage at its most soulful.

Beautiful, clean, historic house. Wonderful stay. We enjoyed it. Beautiful, clean, and historic house in a quiet neighborhood. Our room was on the second floor and it was spacious with a king sized bed. Comfortable bed with clean sheets. The bathroom was clean. The Inn also has EV chargers onsite that was included in the stay at no extra charge. 2 Tesla (NACS) chargers and 1 non-Tesla (CCS1) charger. It was great to charge up at the Inn and not have to find a public charger in Asheville. We enjoyed our stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Suggestion for Staff: Alert guests upon arrival of possible bear making his 'rounds'. My wife was in the room on the second story looking out the window while I was getting the bags from the truck. She saw a bear approaching the property. She called me to alert me. I got inside the truck and waited for the bear to pass by me and check out the trash cans at the adjacent property. He continued on and after waiting a few minutes I got the bags and went inside.

Amazing Bed and Breakfast Amazing Inn! Very clean. Super friendly staff. The room was beautiful and bed was comfortable. No complaints! We enjoyed the location too, being walking distance from the Grove Park Inn and convenient to area restaurants.

Beautiful house and property, but disappointing visit. A beautiful and spacious house built in the late 1800s. Located in an upscale neighborhood only minutes from town. Plenty of parking. Quiet neighborhood. Fascinating history. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean. The downside: our room was cold and the wall control pad didn’t work. The temperature had dropped down to the 40s during the night. The next day we reported this to staff and were told that it had been 80 degrees the previous weekend so the heating system had been turned off. It was remedied for the subsequent night. No drinking glasses, ice machine and no pitcher in the room. It was difficult to adjust the water in the shower to get it hot enough. The continental breakfast was below par. There were supermarket bagels, bread, cream cheese and butter, and packaged food like granola bars. Some fresh fruit was available, juice, coffee and tea. Our room was on the third floor, and there was no elevator. The last flight of steps going from the second to the third floor were narrow and steep.

We love Albemarle The Albemarle is an incredible inn that really gives the essence of a quiet retreat to the mountains. The rooms are all unique with beautiful designs and give a taste of history in the area. Sitting out on the patio in the mornings and evenings in the quiet was our favorite part. And they have free home made cookies every day! We love you albemarle and will be back one day!
