A wonderful getaway in a lovely space. We are two couples, and both so enjoyed our stay. The staff was so accommodating and so very friendly. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and breakfast was varied and all delicious. I cannot say enough about the Inn. We loved being able to sit on the lovely porch and sitting room couch with a glass of wine. We left just hours before the hurricane hit, so hoping the Inn and staff fared well.

Asheville, NC: Where Appalachian Heritage Meets Artistic Soul

Tucked into the scenic embrace of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, North Carolina, is a city that pulses with the pride of its Appalachian roots and the creative energy of a thriving arts scene. Once a strategic hub for railroads and trade in the early 20th century, Asheville has gracefully preserved its architectural legacy—most notably the Biltmore Estate, America’s largest privately owned home, which stands as a testament to Gilded Age grandeur. Strolling through downtown reveals a trove of Art Deco facades, historic buildings, and independent galleries, reflecting a community fiercely devoted to its cultural identity.

Nature and nurture exist in harmony here. The nearby Blue Ridge Parkway offers sweeping vistas and access to some of the region’s most stunning hiking trails and waterfalls, while the city itself brims with farm-to-table restaurants, microbreweries, and music venues that capture the spirit of local innovation. Asheville’s history as a health resort in the 19th century now feeds into its modern reputation as a wellness and outdoor recreation destination. At every turn, from mountaintop sunrise to the drum circles of Pack Square, Asheville invites exploration, reflection, and the rediscovery of American heritage at its most soulful.

Very Nice Place to Stay A place with history and character. Nicely furnished. Very good breakfast. Well-managed. Quiet residential location away from the hubbub in Asheville’s downtown. Good parking. Only negative was that the bathroom in our room was a bit cramped. We’d be happy to stay again at The Albemarle.

Not great The grounds are small but nice. The rooms are all quite different, some with twins ,some with queens. They are nice as well. Now for the bad. During our 3 day stay, we never even had our bed made once. We received clean towels just once. The breakfast was simply bad. The portions were dainty and the quality poor. A single blah pancake with one piece is breakfast? While not terrible, there are much better options in Asheville, we've stayed at a few. Especially given the price.

We want to go back and stay longer! We loved the Inn. We were prepped with arrival instructions via text and email, along with requests for any food restrictions. When we arrived, Sara, the host, was warm and friendly. Our room was clean, spacious and the bed was so comfortable. We were only there for a quick night, but will definitely go back next time we are in town!

Disappointing stay We were quite disappointed in our stay and shocked at all the good reviews here. This is a AAA 4-diamond property and the food, service, and accommodations were all under par. Our check in with Sara was lovely but after she left it was all downhill from there. The woman who took over for Sara on Sunday before Labor Day did not care when we had an issue. She did nothing to help and sat and ate a salad while we were waiting for her to help with our room. When we asked again for help, it seemed like we were inconveniencing her, and she was quite rude to my husband. So little care and consideration! The food was not good and there was lack of proper AC in the room. I would not recommend this property.
