Cape Cod, Massachusetts: Historic Towns and Miles of Protected Beaches

In the late 19th century, Cape Cod blossomed into a summer vacation destination as visitors swapped crowded coastal cities for the sandy shores of eastern Massachusetts. Today, the arm-shaped peninsula, located 60 miles south of Boston, encompasses 15 idyllic towns, rolling dunes, and 300 miles of sandy shoreline—and it’s still the place where many East Coasters choose to spend their leisurely summer days. Popular attractions include fresh-seafood restaurants, quaint stores, and bicycle trails, such as the 11-mile Shining Sea Bikeway that wends from North Falmouth to Woods Hole.

On the uppermost tip of the Cape, the free-spirited art colony of Provincetown attracts visitors year-round. This is one of the best places to head for a vibrant nightlife scene—there are cabarets, bars, and lounges aplenty. Pop into the Provincetown Art Association and Museum to check out local artwork, both historical and contemporary.

these rooms have been completely renovated all rooms have been completely renovated. very modern look. king size mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable. property is efficiently run and very clean. bathrooms are very modern. rooms have a fridge and ironing board with iron. and a hair dryer in the bathroom. far enough away from the bourne bridge, thus a quiet area. don't let past reviews of the property scare you as they are older and written before the renovation.

Tired, characterless and in need of renovation We stopped here on route to Cape Cod and I'm glad it was only for a night. You wouldn't want to spend any more time here. The photograph is very flattering - it's much less welcoming than the picture - Heras fencing around the building in the middle of the car park. Check in was fine and we were presented with a welcome bag - a nice touch - with water, juice, cereal bars and muffins. The safe didn't work - and if it had there was only one number you could use so not secure at all! The decor is from the 1970's and the fittings didn't! doors to cupboards were wonky. There a kitchenette with microwave and fridge but no cutlery or crockery so not much use unless you get a take out pizza that you can eat with your fingers. Why bother putting in cupboards when there's nothing in them? It's a soulless place in a not very exciting little town.

Do not even think about it The rate quoted was 25 less than at check-in The room and bathroom were dirty and damaged. A strong fragrance attempted to cover cigarette smoke. One lamp was broken. Under the toilet was incredibly disgusting. The bed was comfortable.
