Niagara Falls, Ontario: Panoramic Views of the Falls near Vegas-Style Casinos and Water Parks

At Niagara Falls, water thunders downward from a height of nearly 200 feet, crashing onto craggy boulders below. The falls straddle the border between Canada and the United States, but the Canadian side of the Niagara River is universally hailed as the finest vantage point to take in all three of Niagara Falls' photogenic brinks: American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe Falls.

Hornblower cruises ferry raincoat-clad passengers around the base of the falls from April to October, depending on the river's ice conditions. Year-round, Journey Behind the Falls grants a glimpse behind the curtain of Horseshoe Falls—visitors board an elevator that descends 150 feet into the bedrock, then stand at an observation deck steps from the cascading water. A 10-minute walk from the falls is the neon-lit Clifton Hill neighborhood. Its Fallsview Boulevard has plenty of Vegas-style kitsch, including glitzy casinos and indoor water parks.

The place is a blast for young children. I have a 3 year old and 7 year old. They wouldn't leave the Waterpark. It was an amazing time here. Definitely recommend to parents that have young children. If you are going there for a hotel experience then this place is not for you. It's for having a good time with children

Fun for water-loving kids, terrible for sleeping We went to Americana as a family of 5, for Monday-Tuesday in May (not on a long weekend). We booked the Kiddie Junior Suite, and asked for a quiet room to avoid waterpark noise. Our room was on the third floor, at the end of the hallway. Hotel: • The room had plenty of space for kids to move around and play. • The bunkbeds were not separated by a wall like shown. • The bathroom was huge, but only had a very small shower. • The shower had black mold in it. • They don't provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. They have a soap pump on the shower wall that is an "all in one" soap, shampoo, conditioner. • The beds are EXTREMELY uncomfortable. They are firm, have no cushioning at all, and you can feel the springs. • The pillows are hard or lumpy with no support. • The room had a table with 4 chairs, two double beds, and a twin over twin bunkbeds. It also had a mini fridge, microwave, 3 sinks, coffee pot, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, and two TVs. • The top bunk cannot see the TV in the kiddie nook. And the TV takes some tinkering to get it set up. • You can hear people going down the hallway as soon as they are off the elevator. Waterpark: • The waterpark wasn't busy at all, and sometimes we were the only people there. At most there were maybe 10 families. • The chlorine levels were not bothersome, and I'm quite sensitive to smells. • There are small and medium lockers available for $1 or $2. Once you open them you have to pay again, so you can't go back and forth to your locker. • The waterslides often alternated which was open, if any were open. The sign says they rotate every 20 minutes during non-peak times. • My 10 year old enjoyed the waterslides but they aren't the most exciting after a while. • The water levels and temperatures are in consistent. On Tuesday the water levels were higher than on Monday. • The higher water level wasn't ideal for the toddler pool because they couldn't sit in it and the slides were more underwater. The water was also cold in the kiddie pool on Tuesday. • The kiddie playground sprays water non-stop. So if kids don't like getting water in their face and dumped on them, they won't like the playground. • They had plenty of PDF'S starting at 30lbs, and they are less bulky that life jackets. If you need an infant PDF you will have to take your own. Overall the kids had fun. It wasn't our favourite place, but wasn't a dud either.

Great place to take the kids! The water park is great and has everything a child needs for their entertainment. Towels are provided with care and the staff are very friendly and helpful! The hotel was an awesome experience for all of us! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK VERY SOON!!

Beware, housekeeping may remove your items before checkout! The hotel is okay overall. I’ll start with the good: Our kids liked the waterpark and the arcade. It was convenient having Boston Pizza in the hotel. Not so great: Rooms were ok but the beds are awful. **It’s definitely not just that it suits some preferences but not others. It is like sleeping on springs with a sheet on top. Worst bed I’ve ever slept on. Everyone in our group agreed. Expect a terrible night sleep. Terrible: We were very upset on our last day at the hotel. We went out in the morning. Left our stuff in the room because we were coming back before checkout time. When we got back, they had emptied our room!!!!!! Bagged up our personal possessions so that they could clean our room. We returned at 10:30 to find our stuff gone. This happened to other people in our group as well. Feels violating to have random people touching your stuff that you left out while expecting it was safe in your room. Makes you wonder if housekeeping can be trusted at all. We complained at the front desk and they didn’t seem to care. We called later to speak with a manager and just got an apology. This would prevent us from ever choosing to come back.
