Friendly staff that was helpful with questions, comfortable room and nice hotel over all. Walking distance to several restaurants, safe neighborhood which is quiet at night. Most importantly, not too far from Fenway if you're going to a game or two. Would recommend and stay here again.

Came in very late on a very late flight a one night stay. Front desk person Hans was very accommodating and welcoming. Spacious and clean room. Loved the extra soft and thick towels. Definitely would stay here again.

Comfortable hotel, great neighborhood, but "resort fee" is ridiculous I have mixed feelings about this place. The location is great: lots of shops and restaurants (not to mention a very convenient Trader Joe's) within a short walk along leafy, historic streets. My room (a tower king) was comfortable, spacious, and clean. No complaints there at all. The price overall was reasonable, especially compared to hotels in the center of town. However, there are two reasons I can't leave a 5 star review. One, the $30/night "resort fee" for a hotel that has no pool, no spa, nothing even remotely "resort"-like, is irksome to say the least. Second, the breakfast is really sad. It's basically 4 or 5 different versions of bread (bagels, toast, pastries, etc.). Some eggs and/or some yogurt would go a LONG way! I would also much rather pay $10-15 for a nice breakfast than get a "free" breakfast I have zero interest in. I did appreciate the filtered water dispenser in the lobby for refilling water bottles (every hotel should have one of these), as well as the complimentary 24/7 coffee. The gym is also quite nice. I would probably stay here again, but there are some simple things they could do to make it a better experience.

A taste of 1980s Boston — in the worst possible way. I arrived relatively late in the evening. My room supposedly had been paid in full by my host, but the manager insisted that in addition to the room deposit, I pay him a "booking fee" of $67 before checking in. We argued about this for a while, but eventually I gave in, figuring we could sort it out in the morning. I paid, and then asked for a receipt. "No receipt", the manager said. "What do you mean no receipt? You just ran my credit card." "No receipt. You can get one when you check out." I continued to insist on a receipt until the armed security guard came and loomed over me, at which point I figured it was a lost cause and went to my room. The next day, my host called to try to sort things out. Of course they had no record of the $67 that had been charged to my credit card. A true Boston shakedown, '80s style. -- Oh, the hotel? Like the bastard love child of a Super 8 and a CubeSmart self storage building. 2/5 stars because at least the room was clean.

Worst hotel experience I travel at least once a month globally and hands down this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I have since read multiple reviews and this place is awful. Sadly It was the hotel chosen for an event, thus we had not much choice. The negative reviews for which there are many, this hotel is a disgrace with awful amenities and the worst service that should get them a 0/10, not a 1/10. Repeated negative reviews with the same boiler plate lame responses from the hotel representative:management. This hotel is the epitome of “lipstick on a pig,” nice looking outside and in the lobby, but awful on the inside. The icing on the cake was the outrageous and reprehensible behaviour of the front desk when I complained about no coffee in the room for 2 days and the short Latino man at the front desk (sorry for using this descriptor but he refused to give me his name) and “supervisor” Shahine were aggressive and inappropriate in their behaviour, refusing to tell me the name of or to call the hotel manager at my request when I asked to speak with a manager. Repeatedly house keeping would tell us to go to front desk for coffee and the front desk would say they ran out (see J. Travis review with same issue in October as well). On evening 2 of 4, I came back to the hotel about midnight and my wife asked the front desk for replacement coffee pods. They said someone would bring them to our room. They showed up knocking at our door at 2am when we would be clearly sleeping. I woke up and advised the man to leave the pods at the door which he did not do. That next day I asked again for coffee and they said that they had no more pods again. I asked why they could not get an employee in 2 days to go to either of the two grocery stores down the street to get coffee pods until restocked. Shahine, the so called supervisor’s response was “too bad, Boston is a very expensive city.” I have no idea what this has to do with stocking a hotel room with coffee. I insisted on speaking with the manager and the Latino guy told me to come back on Monday when the manager would be back. I told him I was leaving Sunday and won’t be here Monday, and he shrugged his shoulders and said “too bad” in a derogatory tone. He then said “go to bed and good night. ” This was at 6:30pm. This was beyond bizarre behavior. I advised him and Shahine that I have spent almost $3000 for two rooms and 4 nights and I did not think that asking for refills of coffee is asking for much. Shahine said that they “did not care” and once again the Latino guy pointed for me to go the elevator and said “good night” in a child like patronizing tone. Shocking and outrageous reprehensible behaviour. Shahine said that “I am the supervisor and you aren’t getting coffee pods.” These guys need to be fired yesterday. At check/in we were give no info on wifi and not a single stitch of information or even a piece of paper in the hotel room with zero info about the hotel, hotel wifi, etc. No room safes, a mangled & ripped do not disturb sign, no dressers/drawers. A 6 story hotel with only one elevator. Elevator smelled like electrical burning, and had a caution sign on the floor of elevator almost the entire 4 days, but it was unclear as to why? See pic. The breakfast is the most limited breakfast I have ever seen in a hotel, worse than a low cost highway motel. There were pieces of sliced cheese uncovered and not kept cool open to the public for hours. Definitely a public health violation. Bloated rubbery hard boiled eggs soaking in a tub of water. Bizarre. Toasters not working properly and burning toast. Many reviews site the same criticism of their breakfast. See pic. The room next to ours had no operational TV for 4 days. They called the desk repeatedly, but nobody would answer. When they went to speak to the front desk, they told him that the Wi-Fi only worked intermittently. That was a bold face lie since our neighbours and us had normal Wi-Fi throughout the four days and the TV actually was not Wi-Fi, but cable based and our TV worked perfectly well while our next-door neighbours TV never worked for a minute in 4 days. Clearly, a disgraceful group of unprofessionals running the circus they call the hotel. The amenities in the entire place exude a lack of professionalism or caring for their facility or guests. 2 of 3 treadmills in Fitness center not working. I needed to rent a car for work and asked the desk for assistance & guidance and the guy at the desk said that he had no idea about rental car services and could not help me. Is this even a possibility in the city the size of Boston that a hotel in the core of Boston has no knowledge or ability to guide guests on a car rental service near by and convenient. Don’t just take my word, see multiple negative reviews. Bottom line stay away from this lousy overpriced hotel that offers nothing other than location. I have tried to contact Sonders who owns/manages the hotel and in the news last night it said Sonders filed for bankruptcy protection. Maybe the Arcadian will close too.
