North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Sandy Beaches, Fresh Seafood, and Classic Amusement-Park Rides

North Myrtle Beach is at the tip of South Carolina's Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of white, sandy beaches along the Atlantic seaboard that draws surfers, fishers, and kayakers. The town's Cherry Grove Pier bustles with activity during the fishing season, and you can rent a rod nearby to take your place alongside veteran anglers. Nearby restaurants serve up fresh, cooked-to-order crab, shrimp, and fish.

About a half-hour southwest of North Myrtle Beach is Myrtle Beach proper, which USA Today named one of the best family vacation spots in the United States, in part because of its wooden boardwalk, which stretches for more than a mile and buzzes with carnival games and amusement-park rides. Hop into the SkyWheel's glass-floored gondolas, surrounded by more than a million LED lights, for a panoramic view of the city.

Parking nightmare Our room was nice but had trouble with housekeeping not coming in and cleaning regularly or dumping trash. Plenty of towels though. Nightmare to unload at hotel then cross busy 4 lane street to park in small parking garage. No bathroom on pool level so you had to go to level one, wet. Fun for kids but alot of work for the adults. Restaurant food was just so so.

Great place at the ocean! Our accommodations met our expectations by 100%. The room was beautiful and clean. The kitchen was very equipped. Both Bryan and Coach were very hospitable and friendly. They met us when we arrived and took care of a LOT of our luggage. They are great employees. I would recommend this resort to everyone.

Spring Vacation Nice and quiet. Good parking. The guy who ran the shuttle to the parking garage, his name is Coach, was the highlight of the trip . Such a nice and friendly man. The building is nice but starting to to show it’s age. It could use a makeover soon but overall a nice experience.
