Rooms were not ready and smelled. Restaurant orders were wrong. Some of my family members and I tried checking in our rooms on July 26, 2025. Most of our family members came from Houston, Texas. We had reserved three rooms for an event to be held in the Ballroom. When we arrived around almost 5:00 pm, our rooms were not ready. Check-in time was 4:00 pm. Shortly after, they said that one room was ready. However, they said that the other rooms were not ready and the only ones that were ready was the pet friendly floor. We decided to go and get something to eat to wait on our other two rooms and gave them our cell number. They kept giving us wrong orders at the restaurant. We spent almost $100 in the restaurant. Over an hour later we went back to the front desk because they didn’t call us. About 30 minutes after that, they said that another room was ready. We asked for a manager several times but was told there was not any on duty. It was almost 8:00 when our third room was ready and our event was starting at 9:00 pm. We asked if we could receive a discount because of all this confusion but was denied. We felt like they should have given us something whether it was a discount, refund, or complimentary food, etc. The rooms smelled like cigarette smoke. We tried to make the best of it. We will have to really think hard about booking again at this hotel. We were extremely disappointed.

Okay This was our first trip to Shreveport/Bossier since the pandemic. Back then, the area's casinos were starting to show their age, with some having changed hands one or more time. However, the Eldorado was one of the better ones with nice accomodations and a good cafe. Now that Bally's has taken ownership of the previous Eldorado, we were curious to see what they had done with the place. The answer is: not much. That said.... Our room was very satisfactory - clean and lacking the lived in / smoked in smell of many casino hotel rooms. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious and clean (though needing a bit of recaulking in the shower). TV reception was spotty (not sure if they use broadband, satellite, or cable). The staff was a mixed bag. Both our interactions with the front desk were good (checkin/out) and service was prompt. Our server in the cafe (Tania) was a bright spot of our stay! Negatives: Wait staff in the casino was almost non-existent. You can't order directly from the bar so you have to use one of the hosts/hostesses for drink service. It's not that the staff was unfriendly or unhelpful, they were just hard to find - likely a result of staff cutbacks. Pre-pandemic you could self-serve soft drinks and coffee but that is no longer offered. Understandable if eliminated for health reasons, but guessing that it's so that the waitstaff that is there gets all the drink requests and thus the tips. Don't begrudge that as long as service is prompt, which it was not. The highlight of the Eldorado for our group used to be the cafe on the first floor, by the entrance. That has been replaced by a grab and go kiosk with limited selection. The cafe is now on the second floor and the menu is much more limited. Operation of the keycards in the elevators was spotty - working most of the time but with annoying exceptions that required debarkation and hoping to get a different elevator. One of the sliding front doors is dragging so badly that there are grooves cut into the face from prolonged contact with the frame. Not a good first impression upon entering the property. Still, the value for dollars spent on the room was adequate. Final thought: It seems evident that Shreveport/Bossier has two or three more casino/hotels than it can adequately support.

Don't be duped What appears as a hotel with amenities is sadly not. When you pull up, there is a lane for Valet along with a sign outside for it, but no one ever comes out. The front desk explained they don't have Valet anymore. Room service is advertised on the website, but the front desk staff doesn't know what it is, and other staff told us that the restaurants had to be closed. There was only one bar open in the whole facility and that was in the casino. Nice bartender though. Video poker at the bar was the quality of 1980s computer graphics. I expected more from Bally's despite being in Shreveport.
