Dupont Circle, Washington, DC: Historic Charm and Dynamic Nightlife

In Dupont Circle, located about 2 miles northwest of downtown, foreign embassies housed in historic mansions neighbor hole-in-the-wall bars and boutiques. During the day, crowds gather in Dupont Circle’s park to watch chess players hustle on permanent stone-table boards. Here, you can see the neighborhood’s elaborate centerpiece—the two-tiered, white-marble Dupont Circle Fountain. At night, check out the bars along Connecticut Avenue, which range from Latin lounges to beer pubs and high-end clubs.

Two blocks from the fountain, The Phillips Collection showcases paintings by Renoir, van Gogh, and O’Keeffe. A quick ride on the Metro will get you near the National Mall, a tree-lined open space that stretches 2.5 miles, from the US Capitol Building, past the Smithsonian museums to the Lincoln Memorial.

It was two double beds with sofa bed. Location is great, they allowed 3 children stay free of charge. Parking was nice but 50$ a night extra. No breakfast and they provided couple coffee cups with few sugar packs. One light in bathroom didn’t work and it wasn’t fix during our 6 day stay

Horrible stay check in they wanted to switch my room from a king to a queen double. Sent me over to older side of hotel only to go into a dirty room and broken refrigerator. Called house keeping they came to vacuum ask why there NO face towels she tells me hotel not providing them at this time. Never experience such treatment at any resort or hotel I’ve stayed in. Not very happy with Tropicania.

After a 7 hour drive, with my four kids ages 9,6,2 & 10 months we finally arrived at the hotel for them to tell us that the Groupon didn’t go through. We had to them make another booking through Expedia. I’ve been trying to call since that day to get a refund no answer at all.
