Dupont Circle, Washington, DC: Historic Charm and Dynamic Nightlife

In Dupont Circle, located about 2 miles northwest of downtown, foreign embassies housed in historic mansions neighbor hole-in-the-wall bars and boutiques. During the day, crowds gather in Dupont Circle’s park to watch chess players hustle on permanent stone-table boards. Here, you can see the neighborhood’s elaborate centerpiece—the two-tiered, white-marble Dupont Circle Fountain. At night, check out the bars along Connecticut Avenue, which range from Latin lounges to beer pubs and high-end clubs.

Two blocks from the fountain, The Phillips Collection showcases paintings by Renoir, van Gogh, and O’Keeffe. A quick ride on the Metro will get you near the National Mall, a tree-lined open space that stretches 2.5 miles, from the US Capitol Building, past the Smithsonian museums to the Lincoln Memorial.

My room would've been better if I had hot water. The only thing that was good was the staff especially the engineer Mr. Elvis. He was very polite and helpful.

Beacon started out horrible. The room was not clean; trash & bed stain had a flood in the kitchen & was dated. However, after me calling down & speaking to someone. They were nice enough to switch my room & apologize for the inconvenience. By the hotel just opening back up, I am shocked they did not use the time to sanitize and deep clean the rooms. They did not take COVID serious. So be careful

The room was amazing and the location was perfect. Was able to walk to everything I needed. One downfall was the bar was not open during our visit.

It was marked as a 4 star hotel but it didn’t seem to be. I’ve stayed at 4 stars hotel and they were not comparable to the hotel. Our rooms were outdated. The bed had partial spring in it, not a completely foam, so it was a bit uncomfortable. But the staff were nice and friendly.
