Dupont Circle, Washington, DC: Historic Charm and Dynamic Nightlife

In Dupont Circle, located about 2 miles northwest of downtown, foreign embassies housed in historic mansions neighbor hole-in-the-wall bars and boutiques. During the day, crowds gather in Dupont Circle's park to watch chess players hustle on permanent stone-table boards. Here, you can see the neighborhood’s elaborate centerpiece—the two-tiered, white-marble Dupont Circle Fountain. At night, check out the bars along Connecticut Avenue, which range from Latin lounges to beer pubs and high-end clubs.

Two blocks from the fountain, The Phillips Collection showcases paintings by Renoir, van Gogh, and O'Keeffe. A quick ride on the Metro will get you near the National Mall, a tree-lined open space that stretches 2.5 miles, from the US Capitol Building, past the Smithsonian museums to the Lincoln Memorial.

Bad experience I travel a lot and I’m not high maintenance at all but this hotel is awful. Like not bad enough for me to deal with moving to a different hotel but I would absolutely never stay here again. I have no idea how it has so many stars. The AC barely works, and only in half of the rooms. Hot water runs out almost instantly. The room keys have to be re-keyed every single time you go up to your room and they tell you that when you check in, it’s a known issue that they just don’t seem to care about fixing?? It’s seriously bad. Don’t stay here.

Awful! Awful! Awful! Where do I begin? On arriving had to wait for the receptionist to stop chatting. Not a good start! The room, first given, was awful so asked and paid for a upgrade.( Strangely, the next day we heard another person asking for a change of room and just given a free upgrade!)The upgraded room was something stuck in the 1980’s.The bathroom had wall paper coming off the wall.In this room we had bed bugs! Moved again to a suite which again was very tired looking and desperately needed updating. Here, there were cockroaches!! Took pictures to show reception who didn’t seem to fazed about them.More concerned about the bed bugs which had to show them as clearly there was a element of doubt. So,moved again to another room at about 10:00 pm.We left the hotel, understandably,a day early!!

Winta’s Just Simply Amazing I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to show love for this place and the beauty who approached me known as Ms.Winta & Jacqueline. From the second I walked in, I felt welcomed — like they actually cared. The staff was so friendly and attentive, and it wasn’t fake-nice either… it was genuine. Now let’s talk about the food — wow. Every bite was full of flavor, and you can tell they put heart into what they serve. I left full, happy, and already thinking about what I want to try next time. This spot definitely earned a repeat visit from me. If you’re thinking about going, stop thinking and just go. You won’t regret it.
