Resort at a Glance: Bel Air Collection Resort & Spa Cancun

Bel Air Collection Resort & Spa Cancun is nestled against one of Cancún’s famous white-sand beaches. You can soak up some sun while playing in the waves or stretch out by an infinity pool overlooking turquoise Caribbean waters. Cool down with a drink from one of the hotel’s bars.

  • All-inclusive package covers all meals, snacks, and drinks during your stay.
  • Get pampered at the spa with a massage, hydrotherapy session, or yoga class (extra fees).
  • Rest your head on the feather pillows while taking in the view from your guest room.
  • The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef lies just off the shores of Cancún. Go scuba diving or snorkeling to see the reef’s colorful corals, tropical fish, and anemones.

Cancún: Cool White Sands and Mayan Relics

Located on a barrier island shaped like the number seven, Cancún’s Hotel Zone juts into the Caribbean Sea at the northeast tip of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. With the sea on one side and freshwater lagoons on the other, it’s a popular spot for sailing and snorkeling. Although the beaches and barrier reefs are a major draw, the geography is equally enticing further inland, where you can dive into an underground river or take a speedboat through a mangrove jungle.

The stone columns of El Rey Ruins, an ancient Mayan site dating back to the second and third centuries BCE, lie within the city’s Hotel Zone. Believed to be a royal burial ground, the archaeological site is also home to wild iguanas that lounge in the sun.

maintenance issues July 31-Aug 2 in Room 5113. Weak A/C;broken elevator, in-room jacuzzi jets were broken and we did not test it until 10 PM our first night. There were also visible sediments (paint chips? Pieces of the pipe?) in the water. We were blamed for breaking it but management ultimately fixed the jets on Sat but there was still some sediment in the tub water. The room also smelled of strong bleach upon check-in. Two small bottles of Febreze sprayed on everything (curtains, bed, couch) did the trick after two rounds. The beach was un-swimmable because of strong currents and needed to walk down to adjacent hotel with two yellow flags on July 31. Water was clear blue on 7/31. The water was brown due to seaweed on Aug 1-2. There were only 4-5 beach umbrellas each with two chairs. People were reserving chairs even though this was supposed to be not allowed (pool and beach area.) OXXO right across the street where you can buy snacks, alcohol, beer, ice, disposable coolers that also has a small taqueria inside that is open until 6PM. Unexpectedly decent breakfast with grumpy servers. Strong wifi in the pool area and in our first-floor room, OK wifi signal on the beach. Luggage scale that costs ten pesos. Closed Spa services. Never ordered from restaurant outside of breakfast, did not seem worth it after looking at what other guests had.

Birthday! Quick birthday trip! The views are great, we didn’t spend too much time in the room, bed was comfy but the door did not feel to secure. We could never get more than a cup of ice, I don’t know if there was a shortage __‍♀️ Called repeatedly for a room service menu (there wasn’t one on the room) never received it as they were very short on staff or so I was told by the front desk and they could not take my order. So we just walked across the street for what was edible at the time at OXXO.
