Super friendly staff. It was our first time in Sanoma so they were happy to tell us everything we could do. It was in the PERFECT location. Bed was clean and comfy, I loved the hot tub but my boyfriend loved the steam room.

Sonoma Valley, California: Relaxed Wine Country and Majestic Redwoods

Located about an hour north of San Francisco, the Sonoma Valley is best known for its wine. The mild climate here allows winemakers to grow cool-weather varietals such as pinot noir and chardonnay. But the valley has a varied landscape; some areas are prime for growing hot-weather vines, too.

Follow 17 miles of country roads that connect the sleepy hamlet of Kenwood to the Carneros appellation and you’ll find more than 40 boutique wineries, most small and family owned. Many are tucked amid oak forests and wildflower meadows. Compared to its neighbor Napa Valley (about 15 miles away), Sonoma feels a little more relaxed and remote: the wineries here are generally more secluded from one another than those in Napa, and tasting rooms tend to be less crowded, even on the weekends.

Even if you aren’t visiting for the vineyards, Sonoma Valley’s gentle climate and diverse natural landscape make it worth a visit. Hiking trails wind past redwood trees as high as skyscrapers, and popular excursions are canoeing on Russian River and sightseeing at the craggy Pacific coastline and its unspoiled beaches.

64th birthday road trip. This hotel is in a great location in downtown Sonoma. Every single staff member we came in contact with was awesome. The courtyard, pool area was well maintained and very inviting. The room was very nice and clean. Great hotel in the middle of Sonoma for a get away. We will be back.

One of Many Visits to Sonoma Very clean, spacious rooms, plenty of electrical outlets for all our gadgets, well-maintained grounds, nice sized family pool. Only negative is parking situation. Inn charges $5 per day for parking- no biggie. However, the number of spaces available is not sufficient for registered guests. Further, many spaces were labeled for compact cars - but registered, paying guests parked huge SUV's and trucks in the compact spaces. For us, we wanted Handicapped parking relatively close to our room. No spots were labeled for handicapped beyond one spot at registration office. We had to park an entire building away from our room - in a compact-car labeled spot which made getting a walker in and out of the back seat of our car near impossible.

Surprise! Come stay during a major, long term construction project. Surprise! Extreme, long term and loud construction going on. Jackhammers, much of the parking lot torn up. Hard to drive into property and get to makeshift office (an actual hotel room)/breakfast bar (individually wrapped breakfast burritos and muffins), and eat at tables set up in parking lot. They should have closed the hotel for this construction. Unpleasant situation and the people at the "front desk" didn't care. Maybe they were worn down by customers disappointment and dismay.
