Hotel at a Glance: Black Rock Oceanfront Resort

The cool waves of the North Pacific crash against Vancouver Island’s rocky shore right outside this resort. The coastal retreat affords ocean views from many spots on its 8-acre property, including its lobby, restaurant, lounge, pool, and hot tubs.

  • The suite life: Each has a gas fireplace, balcony, kitchenette, and a soaking tub; one-bedroom suites give the most space.
  • Locally sourced ingredients such as fish build the menu at Fetch restaurant.
  • Craft cocktails and lighter meals are served at Float Lounge.
  • Drift Spa specialty: Its organic seaweed products are made on the island.
  • Right on the water: outdoor hot tub and plunge pool

British Columbia’s Pacific Rim: Rugged Beauty on the West Coast

A temperate rainforest made verdant with old-growth spruce, red cedar, and hemlock, the west coast of Vancouver Island is an outdoorsy paradise. Hikers and nature lovers can hike the Wild Pacific Trail, explore Long Beach, or visit the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Near the edge of this forest is the Ucluelet Peninsula. Ucluelet was a First Nations fishing village before European settlers arrived in the late 1800s. Today it’s a destination for surfing, kayaking, and fishing for saltwater fish such as halibut and salmon in the summer. During fall and winter months, the abundant scenery can be viewed while walking the long beaches and hiking through old-growth rainforest.

Amazimg experience So impress with the perfect clean of the room, felt like home. The front desk agent was very profesional and polite. I loved the breakfast. Sadly my son lost his favourite lighteen mcqueen car somewhere in the restaurant or the frontdesk area, wish somebody find. Overall this is the best hotel stay ever. Higlhly reccomended.

Josh Wynia The hotel is amazing but also showing significant wear and tear in areas. Renovations in 2024/25 should help that. Food service is okay, no lunch accommodations at either the lounge or restaurant. Be prepared to go out for lunch or make your own if you have a room kitchen. Staff is always helpful.

Vibrating room Restaurant exhaust system caused our room to vibrate and hum with noise…made me nauseous. Checked out after 1 night. Signature ocean view suite.
