Tampa, Florida: Sunny Days, Beaches, and Busch Gardens

Given that Tampa has more than 15 white-sand beaches and nearly 250 sunny days a year, it should come as no surprise that Forbes magazine ranked it the fifth best city in America for enjoying the outdoors. Set on the Gulf Coast, about 90 miles southwest of Orlando, the city offers abundant green spaces as well as year-round opportunities for fishing, surfing, and golfing on waterfront courses.

Roller coasters and exotic animals share real estate at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, a theme park designed to evoke the thrills of an African safari. Like a big cat sprinting after its prey, Cheetah Hunt—one of the park’s newer thrill rides—reaches speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. Back on solid ground, you can get up close and personal with more than 2,000 animals living in detailed replicas of their natural habitats.

The double queen bedroom was great for the price. The room was clean and overall modern looking. The bathroom was a bit dated and I noticed the shower walls could have been cleaned better, but overall the room got the job done to rest before my early morning departure. I would stay there again if need be. Also, The lobby was smokey smelling and the lobby restroom was not clean, but the room was in order.

Got to the hotel very late at night. The check in process was smooth and quick. Got into the hotel room and it had a very musty smell. The bathtub water fixture had a steady stream running out of the handle area they put a towel underneath it. The tv remote and the phone was broke in the room. The beds had little black spots on the sheets. They told us sorry and would give us a full refund

The best thing—the girl at the welcome desk! She was so sweet! I also enjoyed the atmosphere, my room was clean and quiet.

Horrible. Room was damp. The floor and sheets actually felt wet. I’ll never go back.

The shower rack was dangling, about to fall on either someone's head or just fall down, water leaking on floor, the windows had rips in screens, bent window fames as if someone was trying to break in, cable did not work for a whole day and the GM thought that this issue was not good enough for additional refund as one inconvenient experience led to another at this place.

Very disappointed. If I had not prepaid I would have left. It was dirty, they were remodeling and the amenities were a let down.
