Rude staff October 2025 We tried to stop in because we’ve always been interested about the place- we’ve been talking about staying there for ages. We thought we would get a beverage at the bar as we were walking by so we could at least check out the inside. It was during the protest and we had some modest signs which we could have easily rolled up and were dressed in regular clothes- nothing crazy or loud. The woman at the door claiming to be security (she didn’t look like security) rudely barked at us that there is no public restroom as we tried to enter. We explained to her we just wanted to get a quick drink at the bar and she refused us service. I think she was discriminating against us based on politics, and she was very unpleasant, It was very disappointing to be treated like that. None of us will be going back ever.

Brown Palace a Dud I would not stay there again despite its reputation. The staff at the tavern and primary restaurant were no credit to the hospitality industry. No interest in seating a solo traveler. Only welcoming venue was Ellyngton (for breakfast). Otherwise, steer clear. Room are small, bathroom especially. Reminded me of the Algonquin. Only good thing was that my room was ready when I arrived. One day of my stay the housekeeping folks never came by. I was out much of the day and quite surprised to get back and see they’d not been there. Convenient to the free bus which goes to the 16th Street Mall, a great service. Overall, the hotel is very expensive for what it offers.
