Cherry Blossom Magic! I had the best experience here! This was my first time actually exploring DC, I went for the Cheery Blossom Festival and 5k, and the location is fabulous! I was greeted promptly by Tabitha, she upgraded me at arrival, explained the amenities and event activities, and gave me several recommendations. The location is fabulous, my room was new, housekeeping was great. The rooftop bar was awesome, and the service was fantastic throughout my stay.

Great Area, Not A Great Hotel This past weekend (Memorial Day) at the Canopy Hilton Hotel on the Wharf in Washington DC was a terrible experience Brought our dog to DC and should have known it would not be a great stay, when the digital key and app check-in didn’t work. The text that our room was ready was received as we walked away from the check-in desk. Then, the digital key was available. Clearly, this is a feature, not a bug. My conversation with the gentleman at the desk. ME: “I wish the digital key and check-in worked. It’s much easier with a dog.” HIM: “I know, but I always tell people to come to the desk so I can get you a better room.” ME: Oh, okay. Did I get the upgrade I requested? HIM: No, sorry. The room was small. No closet, just a metal contraption to hold clothes. There’s an iron and ironing board but no extra pillows or blankets. A/C was not very cold. The large stain on the chaise/sofa wasn’t pretty. Why didn’t they clean it? A lamp shade was covered in stains & looked like a can of soda exploded. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the blanket was about the equivalent of a lace doily. The bed covering was a ragged duvet cover, WITH NO DUVET INSIDE. What is the point? Then, there was the toilet. If you have to flush twice, it’s a long wait for it to fill. Very little water pressure. Shower water pressure was fair, but the sink was terrible. The toilet seat was broken and coming off its hinge. At first, it wasn’t so bad and we were out of the room, so we forgot about it, but by the time we left, it was barely hanging on. Housekeeping never came. We didn’t ask for them not to come. Nobody emptied the trash. They didn’t even leave an extra trash bag, so it was overflowing. We called for more towels and instead of two sets of towels, we got two towels. That’s it. We were allowed $36 a day to buy food, but there’s nowhere to use it. No shop/pantry to buy snacks, just a small coffee shop/restaurant that looked rather unappealing, so our $72 went unused. Last, and most infuriating…parking. I told the gentleman at check-in, we were going out & would valet the car later. He said it was fine. When we returned, the valet said “sorry, we’re full and the self-parking garage is too.” How does a hotel not have space for its guests to park? The valet was very nice and apologetic. It wasn’t his fault. We pulled into the self-park anyway and decided to wait until someone pulled out. Self-park is $62 overnight, but NO in/out privileges. So, every time we moved the car, we had to pay. That’s why we expected to valet the car. Two overnights plus two in/outs was $190. The valet should have been $65 x 2 = $130. Aside from the parking problem, each issue, by itself, was not earth-shattering, but taken as a whole, it made for a very unpleasant weekend. It’s a terrible hotel in a great location. Not holding my breath for Hilton to reimburse our parking. But, now, we’ll wait for the perfunctory reply from the hotel, saying how sorry they are and that they hope we return to give them another chance. Why on Earth would we?

Top-tier service at best. This is one of the best hotels in the area. The customer service. Is top-tier. Adel, which was at the front desk, gave us top-tier service and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. He also gave great advice about things to do in the area.

Fantastic Stay The hotel was beautiful and spotless! The front desk staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating—especially Jamel, who quickly helped us switch rooms after we had an issue with dogs barking nearby. Thanks to their prompt assistance, our night wasn’t disrupted.

Modern and Inviting Hotel! Beautiful Hotel! Great location. This is a perfect place for a long weekend at the capital! I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The style is modern but still cozy and inviting. One of the best hotels I have stayed at in DC.
