Dallas, Texas: Rejuvenated Urban Districts and Historical Parks

Though some know Dallas only for the massive AT&T Stadium (which is actually in Arlington), the city is also an enclave of arts and nature, overflowing with botanical gardens, art galleries, and live theater. Historic Main Street connects many of the city’s recently rejuvenated urban districts, as well as the popular Main Street Garden, a block-long public park surrounded by architecturally significant buildings.

A short walk from downtown Dallas, you’ll find horse-drawn carriages clopping along brick streets in the city’s historic West End district, which dates back to the 19th century. This part of the city also contains Dealey Plaza, where President Kennedy was assassinated in November 1963. At The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, housed in the former Texas School Book Depository, you can visit the spot where Lee Harvey Oswald is believed to have shot at Kennedy’s presidential motorcade.

Beautiful hotel in a historic Dallas building, located close to so many activities. We had a lovely room with an amazing view of the downtown skyline and the iconic Reunion tower. The beds were super comfortable, and the fridge was a nice addition. Parking was pretty convenient, but did fill up quickly in the evenings when the Fivee club next door got busy. Would def stay here again.

Shuffle and Parking From the time we arrived until we left everything was a 10. The greeting in the Lobby, the cleanliness of the room, the friendliness of staff all wonderful. Free parking and shuttle service for nearby surroundings are unheard of. The shuttle was a big plus for me as, I have some mobility issues and we were attending the volleyball tournament. They dropped us off and picked us up when we called. The restaurant has a club sandwich that was sooo good, and big enough to be shared by me and my husband. The coffee!!! Hi Bri! Not that we needed it, but there were 2 EV chargers.

Concerned Customer I live at South Side on Lamar and frequently visit the bar and restaurant at the Canvas Hotel. Tim is one of the main reasons I continue to come back — he’s an outstanding bartender who consistently delivers excellent service, genuine conversation, and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, during my visit tonight, I witnessed a disturbing incident. A patron came behind the bar, crossed professional boundaries, and grabbed Tim’s beard without consent. I could clearly see that Tim became visibly uncomfortable and unsettled. The situation was concerning enough that I instinctively recorded a video to document what took place. Tim has always gone above and beyond to create a positive experience for guests. No employee — especially one who represents your establishment so well — should ever be put in a situation where they feel unsafe at work.
