Myself, another adult and 3 children aged 5-7 all lefts comfortably in the double bed sleeper. It had a pull out bed chair which my seven year old slept and fit perfectly with lots of wiggle room. In the water park however all the slides but one were closed both days we went and of one of the pools that had basket ball hoops was closed the second day. Food and drinks are expensive. 8/10 overall

Sandusky, Ohio: Family-Friendly Town with Amusement Parks Along Lake Erie

The town of Sandusky lies on the shores of Lake Erie, about midway between Cleveland and Toledo. It's a family-friendly destination with a slew of theme parks and scenic coastal islands. Cedar Point, open May through October, is one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States and a must-do for thrill seekers. The park’s Millennium Force roller coaster set records as the tallest and fastest in the world when it was introduced in 2000. More recently, the GateKeeper scooped up seven world records when it opened in 2013, including the "longest drop on a wing coaster."

If you prefer a slower pace, visit Sandusky’s former post office, which has been transformed into the Merry-Go-Round Museum. The grand building is full of antique carousels of all shapes and sizes, restored to their original splendor; it’s also rumored to house a couple of ghosts. More spooky fun awaits at Ghostly Manor Thrill Center, which features a haunted house, a roller rink, a 4D theater, black-light mini golf, and bounce houses.

Check in was a breeze. A few friends and myself went together with separate purchases and was able to get rooms near one another.

Definitely not even mediocre Would not recommend - our room had a horrible smell and we asked to have it checked out 4 times before I finally told them they to move us immediately because all of us had headaches and were waking us nauseous from it. Front desk staff is inept at best. We never had housekeeping and we were here for 5 days. The hotel has a lot of things to do and the food is decent- but the breakfast buffet is exactly the same everyday no variation at all.

Be ready for housekeeping to push you out first thing in morning. Took my teenage boy and his friends on a birthday trip. Had a great day at cedar point and then checked into our room. Our tv was broke, room smelled like mildew and the beds are small and not real nice. Biggest issue was in the morning. Be ready for house keeping to start knocking at the door in the early AM regardless of if you have your sign up. We let them know on multiple occasions we would be checking out right at 11. Around 10:15 the boys went to waterpark and I walked out to the car to grab my swimming trunks, etc. even with my sign still on the door and my computer bag with my meds etc in it and my wallet on the table I came back to my door wide open and all the sheets on the ground, my new soda gone etc. going forward we will stay somewhere else that respects your privacy and also doesn’t rush you to get out earlier than what you paid for.

Lots to do and fun for the kids, but will you have time for it all? Castaway Bay is great for families with kids, as there is plenty to do. However, if you are using it as your base of operation for a visit to Cedar Point, you really won't have time to enjoy everything they offer if you stay at the park late. The pool closes at 8pm, which is very early for a hotel pool, but I am sure it has everything to do with the availability of life guards beyond that time. I would have loved to come back from Cedar Point exhausted with sore feet to a nice swim or sauna, but there isn't anything available after hours. Our room with a king and bunk beds was very nice, but the A/C is only 1 unit opposite the bunk bed room, which stayed hot during our stay no matter how cold we set it. The cool air just didn't reach the bunk bed room. There isn't any complimentary breakfast or coffee, so we went to the Starbucks downstairs in the morning to get our coffees and put it on the $50 'incidentals' charge put on our credit card when we checked in. But the $50 wasn't there. So we go to the front desk right next to Starbucks, and they say it 'dropped off' for unknown reasons. So they put another $50 'incidentals' fee on my credit card and we pay for our coffees. Days later after we are home, I still see the original $50 from when we checked in and another $50 from our coffee run the next morning on my credit card. I'll have to contact the property to straighten it out. Overall, it is a good place to stay near Cedar Point. The water park is great, the arcade is fun, but if you think about it, you are paying extra for their amenities that you just may not use.
