Awesome vacations with Family in Punta Cana We love the resort, the rooms, the entertainment team (Ryan), the food/restaurants and the service. We have visited this resort for the last four years and we love the experience. The rooms are clean and the Family club is the best experience if coming with children. I will highly recommend this resort.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Miles of White-Sand Beaches

When Christopher Columbus landed in the Dominican Republic more than five centuries ago, he described it as "a beautiful island paradise." Punta Cana, located on the island's easternmost tip, lays a legitimate claim to that description. The coast stretches for more than 20 miles and is dotted with coconut palms, chaise lounges, and laid-back bars. Glitzy resorts feature prominently along the shoreline, but Playa El Cortecito, a short drive up the coast, harks back to earlier times. Brightly colored thatched-roof shacks line the beach, and local fishermen bring their boats to shore each afternoon with the day's catch.

Family of 5 first time in Punta Cana Resort was nice, unfortunately it’s is not on the beach. You have to take a shuttle to take you to and from the beach or walk for about 15 minutes. For us traveling with little kids walking was not an option so we had to wait for the shuttle to go to the beach or the big pool. Service was not great, it was very hard to get a cup of coffee or water when sitting at the buffet restaurants especially “trapiche”. And yes we did tip as much as we could and even then it was hard to get someone to just bring us drinks on a timely manner. The a la carte restaurant did provide best service and we were able to get a reservation for most nights. MAKE SURE TO BOOK THOSE IN ADVANCE, they book quickly. Kids club was GREAT, they always had activities for the kids and they girls were very nice. We were able to meet Maxi and Stefani and they were the best addition to our trip. They babysit our little girl twice and were amazing and we communicated through WhatsApp when I was away from the resort to make sure she was happy and in good hands. The rooms were on the smaller size at least for our family of 5. But the beds were comfortable and we got fresh towels and a clean room often. They also refilled our mini fridge daily with water, soda, juice, chocolate milk and beer. Going back to the beach another down side from being away is the amount of people trying to sell pictures, tours, jewelry, braids or anything at all. I tried to take a nap while enjoying the waves and breeze and was woken up every 5 minutes by someone new offering things to purchase. I did see the platinum side has borders around the beach that won’t allow trespassers to try to solicit so if you get the option definitely upgrade and enjoy the beach. They had a sand bucket with toys for my kids at the room so that was nice we didn’t have to run to a store to get them. The stores outside the resort are limited but we were able to get milk and snacks. Going outside the resort was a hassle trying to avoid more people coming in to get us to buy something. The resort always had music and events through the day so it was fun to see something different every day. The pools and beach were clean and so was the resort overall.

Just okay My family and I (myself, husband and 5yr old son) stayed at Princess Family Club from June 15-21. When we arrived Nes at the front desk was so kind and welcoming. He handed me a glass of champagne and quickly got us checked in. Much appreciated after a long day of traveling. He did let us know right away that the elevator was out of order, but that they were working on getting it fixed. Pedro, helped us with our bags and let us know that there was a second elevator but it was waaay in the back. It too was out of order when we checked in but it did work the reminder of our stay. We also saw the elevator maintenance company on site everyday so they were trying to address the issue. It did get fixed on our last night so better late than never. The children’s water park with accompanying buffet and bar were amazing to have access too. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee, beer, cocktails on hand until 4pm was a life saver. My personal favorites were the chicken pastelitos. I always made sure to grab as many as I could when they were on offer. I didn’t get the name of woman who was behind the buffet but she was so kind and greeted us everyday with a beautiful smile. Nikole was our favorite waitress! Also, so kind and attentive. At the kids club my little one was not a fan, but that was mostly because he didn’t connect with the other kids (language barrier). He much preferred being in the pool. Thank the good lord for Nancy!!! She was so amazing all week. Everyday when she saw us she made sure to check on us and always made sure our son was good (and me lol). Food: I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. The food is the family club buffet was very tasty and seasoned well. My favorite meal was at El Pescador. The food was cooked to perfection!! My least favorite meals were at El Guacho and Il Tartufo. At El Guacho the empanadas were just okay. I could tell they weren’t freshly made like the pastelitos I had at Mordisco. At Il Tartufo, the gnocchi in pesto was WAY overcooked and the barnzino with mashed potatoes was very salty. The selections at the main buffet, La Hispañola were also tasty and there were many options for everyone in the family. The Ice Cream truck near the main lobby is so cute and the perfect ending to dinner. We had ice cream every night! In the event that you want something off the menu that’s “special” like the ribeye, it will take 45-50 mins because they do not keep it in that particular restaurant. They have to get it from the central kitchen and it can take time to order, receive and cook it. Definitely not mentioned on the menu. If you really want it, my husband recommends calling way ahead. The WiFi is not that strong and that could definitely use some improvement. The signal is great in the lobbies and restaurants but not great in our room. Seeing as how you need the app to make reservations for dinner having strong WiFi in the rooms would be helpful. Stay far far away from anyone in an orange shirt!!!! They are trying to sell you a membership to their club. It’s a time suck and who wants to do that on vacation. We got suckered in cuz they caught us right when we arrived and exhaustion had clearly set in. What was promised to be a 30 mins talk turned into 2hrs. Natalie who talked with us was very kind, but her boss Maria was way too pushy. My husband and I said no several times and when the kids club called to tell me that our son was having a hard time (crying and asking for us), I said I had to go. Her reply was “Don’t worry he’s fine and we’re almost done.” Wrong response for this mama bear. We later learned that if you do become a member and have kids you can’t use the water park unless you pay extra. Things to know: if you have kids and are staying anywhere on the property that isn’t family club you technically can’t use the water park. If you want to it’s 15$/day. Overall, our stay was okay. The food was decent, staff were great and the ones mentioned were exceptional (Nes, Nancy, Nikole, Eric (towel attendant at the kids club), Pedro, and the lovely chef at Mordisco). The WiFi is not great in the room but pretty decent in restaurants and main lobby areas. The membership talk was a total waste of time and felt so predatory. I know everyone has a job to do but the pushiness was next level.

"A Mixed Stay: Great Staff and Beautiful Surroundings, but Room for Improvement" ### Positive Aspects of the Hotel 1. **Friendly and Attentive Staff**: The majority of the staff are friendly and attentive to guest complaints. Maxima, in particular, stands out for her exceptional service. 2. **High-Quality Food**: The food offered at the hotel is delicious and well-prepared. 3. **Well-Maintained Pools**: The pools are in excellent condition and provide a great place for relaxation. 4. **Charming Natural Surroundings**: The hotel is set in a location with beautiful and charming natural scenery. 5. **Wonderful Decor**: The hotel's decor is stunning and adds to the overall ambiance and guest experience. ### Improvement Areas for the Hotel 1. **Slide Safety Rules**: The age requirements for the water park slides are unclear, posing potential safety risks for children. Clear signage and guidelines are needed to ensure appropriate use. 2. **Elevator Issues**: The elevator was out of service for five days, causing significant inconvenience, especially for guests on higher floors who had to carry their luggage to the lobby. 3. **Room Amenities**: There are no trash baskets in the rooms, which detracts from the overall convenience and cleanliness for guests. 4. **Towel Service**: The towel exchange service is unreliable, with frequent shortages of clean towels even during regular hours, often due to power outages. This affects guest comfort and satisfaction.

Stay away from princess family club bavaro. Still here but counting the hours to leave, also, don’t use expedia. A microwave with on leg that barely heats anything, dirty as a pig, minibar that doesn’t cool anything, its warmer inside it than outside, mind you, told them I got a special kid, who only eats what we bring him (chicken nuggets and stuff) which needs cold ( to not go bad) and heat to be eaten, and still, appliances don’t work properly.
